Career of Evil
question
Pay from the Quine Case?

Something that has been bothering me is that Strike was never paid anything from Leonora Quine for solving her husband's murder. It was noted at the end of Silkworm that she would be well off with his book sales. I didn't get the sense she would just screw him over like that. I'm hoping that eventually she does repay him. Anyone else bothered by this? I have not finished Career of Evil yet so i guess it could still come up.

Me too, I was wondering the same thing! It's never alluded to in Career of Evil. How does he manage Robin's salary??
i just figured snice it had been a few months (I think) since the case, that it had already been spent - i mean, he isn't exactly solvent...
I don't know if she ever paid him or not. But he's had time to spend whatever he was paid.
That case, and the first one with the model, made him famous. That brought in a lot of business. That's the main source of his business success.
