Speaking of the alt book, this month's alt book isn't readable. It's not going to be published till the summer soooo... are we even reading an alt book this month? Just wonderin'.

I was looking at the goodreads page first and it shows pretty much nothing other than the alt book that's coming in July. No reviews, no people putting it in their to-read shelves, no chatter... So I assumed it was coming in July of this year but I should have looked closer to the date. It says it came out July of 2012! But you're right, the book is already out in paperback and Kindle. I'm sooooo sorry. My bad. ^_^;

I have been a long time fan of Vaginal Fantasy on youtube and I love your group discussions. Thank you so much for what you have been doing and keep up the good work. This is far better entertainment than anything network TV has ever provided. I can watch you for hours at a time.

We have some exciting prospects about getting authors to answer Q/A in the forums for us here, so i wanted to make sure especially with the Alts that we knew where the homes were!

Just watched my first episode ever #28 and really enjoyed it so much that I joined here. Looking forward to actually reading the book for the next episode. So if that was your new format, I would say it is working well!
After wincing my way through "Hunter's Claim," I'd like to suggest that whoever is picking the alt & main for the month has to at least read chapter 1 or the eBook sample before announcing it as the upcoming pick.

I like that they are walking into it the way we are. They can't all be winners. And bad books aren't a norm here. Plus, this bad book has turned into a fun Vaginal Fantasy Hangout.

While it's awesome discovering a new favorite in a book club, I think that it's sort of refreshing from time to time to have a book that everyone can agree is terrible.

I have the alt book. And I have started reading it. The up side for me is that I can read multiple books at the same time and keep up with the story lines! I hope you guys can find them. If you can't send me a PM and I can direct you to the right place!
I agree that the alt book shouldn't be skipped in the live feeds. I personally really enjoy the extra discussions, however brief they may be. Besides, the alt is about 90% of the time better than the main anyway. one of my favorites to watch is the amazing conversation between all of you about sexy dinosaur men fighting werewolves and such.
It looks like some of the local groups missed the announcement that we can post our own events now. Could put a sticky on the Request an Event thread and close it?Also, does Goodreads allow us to have a folder within a folder? I like to notify the people in my area when there are book signings in the area or other events related to Vaginal Fantasy. It might be nice if some of the more active local groups could have a folder so threads like that could be separated from the main thread so it didn't get as cluttered.
I really like the new format. It feels like the conversations are more in depth.
I don't really miss the discussion of the alt book, because I get that with my local group, but for the people that do, maybe you could do a 2nd show every month. Maybe not as long. Bring in a host and have guest "panelists." Or see if any of the local groups that do their own G+ hangouts would want to do it.

I'm fairly new to organizing the events, how would we set them up for the local groups? Thanks for helping a newbie out. :)
Edit: Apparently, there's an issue with the events processing server, which is why it's not working for me. Never mind, I just need to be patient.
This all sounds great! But if I could make a request - the Google+ community for VF is pretty much being overrun by author spam (and sometimes sunglasses spam?). Can we get a little more moderation over there? I know I can't be the only VF fan who loves the show but rarely uses Goodreads (and even less often, the GR communities). Please?
Thanks for the updates - I love this group and the hangouts, even though I am typically quiet, and I appreciate all the effort that goes into them.I am hoping against hope you all can come to DragonCon this year too. A Vaginal Fantasy panel would be amazing.

Unfortunately holly, it's pretty much only me doing VF moderation on all the outlets, Boonie helps with Twitter and FB but that's it. I can't guarantee that I can police that community all the time. Would any of you guys over there like mod privileges yourself to be able to help clean up?

I wish we could do Folders in folders, but we can't. I'm happy to allow whole forum topics for really active groups, depending on how active they are. It's unfortunate we can't do sub folders, you're right! But anything to encourage local groups to interact more.

I think she was at her mother's house, so it might have just been a thing where the setup wasn't perfect, being somewhere different?

Thanks for checking in with that! So we have been working on this for a few months, and we have a problem in that the ripped audio from the videos is VERY bad quality and we don't think it helps any of our listeners to have all these hangouts uploaded with the cracks and pops and really quite bad quality :( We are looking at alternatives that won't add an extra recording session to our schedules. I really want to make it work it's just about how to figure out to do both the hangout and podcast simultaneously with good tech. It's kind of a nightmare haha

If you can provide me with the information and maybe a sample video i could try to find the problem and if possible fix it.

Would it be possible to revisit the idea of announcing books 2 months ahead? It took 3 weeks for my copy of last month's book to arrive, so I only finished it this morning!
Per your FAQ idea, I recently did a MASTER LIST: Reference Guide/Important Folders & Topics for my group, Casual Readers. It's a great way for members (new and old) to find information. Granted, it's not fun to code it all out but truly makes a difference for engagement purposes.
