Welcome, ancient goddess friends!

I've never begun a Goodreads group before, so bear with me while I get my bearings (no pun intended).

I'm open to anyone's suggestions about what we might want to do here as a group. Some of you might have been members of other Goodreads groups and therefore might have some great ideas you liked in these other groups.

Please feel free to add any discussion topics to this folder -- and, of course, to discuss any of the topics I've added.

I should introduce myself. I am a Goodreads author. I write about ancient goddesses, and my second book, Breaking the Mother Goose Code, will be released this fall by John Hunt Publishing in the UK. My first book is Switching to Goddess (you can read a few reviews of it right here on Goodreads, and others on Amazon.com). My website is jeristudebaker.com.

I'm so glad that six of you have joined this group so far. I was kind of surprised to find that Goodreads had no other groups based on goddesses, women's spirituality, etc. Well, now it has one, at least!

P.S.

Please invite your friends to the group!

Maura (mauraken126) | 1 comments Hi Jeri! Thank you for the message and information. I look forward to exploring your website and work. I am currently at graduate school pursuing a degree in Women's Studies in Religion. I study under Rosemary Radford Ruether- her books are all wonderful. I have been reading a lot of academia books on goddess culture, divine feminine spirituality, Wiccan and neo-pagan groups, and sacred and scriptural texts. I would be glad to add my recommendations. Will you be adding more books to the "bookshelf"? Does this group read and discuss books dealing with goddess constructs? Will you be recommending books or adding more books to the "Bookshelf" section of this group? If so, I would appreciate any suggestions on books based on female religious traditions, fiction or nonfiction, similar to "The Red Tent" or "The Shack" - books that give me a break from the strict academia language and format. Thank you!

Lasara MSW (lasara_firefox_allen) | 1 comments Hi all! My name is Lasara Firefox Allen. I'm an author of two books on women's spirituality, Sexy Witch (2005), and Jailbreaking the Goddess: A Radical Revisioning of Feminist Spirituality, which comes out on Friday, July 8! (Let me know if you'd like to read Jailbreaking and offer a review! You can contact me here.)

I look forward to being part of this group. Thank you, Jeri, for starting it.
