Hi everyone! I'm so sorry I forgot to post May's book the other day. I propose...
All The Light We Cannot See, by Anthony Doerr
I've been wanting to read this one for a while. Pulitzer Prize winner, fascinating period of history, AND the author went to my school's brother school on the east side of Cleveland (though slightly before my time)!
How's that?
Been on my list for a while! I just need April to end so I can get off of 5am-5pm, 7 days a week and actually be able to read again xD
I just found this club (somehow I've missed commentary about it in the Common Room!) and I am really excited for next month's book! Nice pick :) it is on my "to read" list for they year, so I am excited to discuss it with everyone!

Bah...I'm 10th on my library's waiting list. I may not get to end before the end of the May. *fingers crossed*
Is there someone that can get ahold of Marisa in the Common Room to see who she would like to pass the conch to for the month of June? Please and thank you!
Before I dig into May's book I will definitely need to read the April book, especially since I picked it lmaoOnly five more days before I get my first day off work in April! Saturday = Read Memoirs of a Geisha Day!
Hi. Sorry. I just got back from leading 4 day choir tour to Boston with 95 kids and I'm beyond delirious and haven't really done anything except trip business for a while. I apologize.Devin, tag, you're it!
Since I've already had the opportunity to choose a book (back in November) I'm going to go ahead and pass the conch off to someone else who hasn't had the opportunity. (Although thank you very much, Marisa! I just want to be fair). I was thinking Karina for the month of June. Karina, do you accept?
(Sorry, I wasn't around back in November so I didn't know you had done it already - that makes total sense, thanks.)
I feel like this is meant to be! I've been wanting to read the book for a while, but couldn't justify paying for the hardback. I got an email saying that my turn finally came up for the digital copy for my library a few hours before I got notification that this was the book chosen!
I am so excited for this book! One of the few my sister has read that I haven't, and she has very highly recommended it. She says it reads like poetry and it's been on my to-read list for a while, so I'm excited to get going!
Vince, are you stalking me? lolStarting May's book tonight! I know I'm late to start, but I was in the middle of Passenger :-P
Hi guys! I was trying to get ahold of Karina to choose the book for the month of June, but I no longer participate in the common room. Is there someone that can tag her w/ FB?

maybeee...
Hey Jessie! If you could just tag her and ask if she's interested in choosing the book for the month of June, that'd be great!

Hey guys! Sorry, I've been on vacation the past two weeks! Thank you for choosing me! I will let you know of my decision this afternoon! :)
Okay guys. I've decided on Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom. I've been feeling very contemplative about life and living in the moment and I felt this would be appropriate for the summer months. I haven't read this yet but I've only heard good things and I can't wait to discuss!
This has been on my to read list for so long, I'm so excited about the choice for June! Thanks, Karina!
I might be sitting out on this one, it hits to close to home. If it's ok I would like to put my name on the list to pick a book in the future. Although I am glad that this book got picked it will help people understand how horrible als actually is, reading the title alone made me tear up.
No problem at all, Holly! Thanks for being courteous to the individual that chose the book, I really appreciate that. All opinions are welcome, but respect and tact must be present as well. As far as those that choose our book each month, we don't really have a list- the person that chose the book chooses the next member to choose for the following month. Although, thanks for bringing it up. I didn't realize until trying to pick someone for June how big our group has gotten, and how overwhelming it can be to choose. So! I've decided to make a new topic where members can put their names in to be chosen in the future. (:
Karina wrote: "Is this where I nominate for July? I nominate Jennifer Eckhert!"Thanks! I accept the challenge!
As the conch bearer of the month of July 2016, I choose the new book But What If We're Wrong by Chuck Klosterman. It's nonfiction, which is not what I usually read, but it looks fascinating. But What If We're Wrong?: Thinking About the Present As If It Were the Past

Ooh! This looks like an interesting read! :)
So I really appreciate Devin for nominating me for the October pick! I'm down to 3 choices: The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon, The Magicians by Lev Grossman, or The Shining by Stephen King. Any input would be great! I'll post my final selection tomorrow morning!
In the spirit of Halloween and in hopes of stirring up some lively debate, I choose The Magicians by Lev Grossman for October's book! Let me tell you what, it was really tough trying to decide on a book!! Hopefully, though, we'll get some great discussions out of this one!
The Magicians is an interested choice. I just read it for a different book club, so I'll be participating in the discussion.
Cool, I just picked it up from the library. Perfect timing.
