Me too, I'm participating in the Popsugar challenge and for some reason Rick Riordan books fit the criteria for many tasks :D

And I was going to read the books as well just before the release of the next book.

Chapter 1 - 6
(view spoiler)[ Hazel's chapters felt so short (audiobooks have been saving my reading life), and checking the book, I realise that it was just 32 pages. But, I am glad she is getting her own role in the story! In the last book, she was pushed to the background, so I am glad that a goddess has chosen her to manipulate the mist.

I love being in Annabeth's brain because she knows so much and always comes up with a plan! Tartarus sounds really creepy, I wouldn't want to be there. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 7 - 12
(view spoiler)[ Creepy shadow giant is creepy. It's cool to see the Empousai return, especially Kelly. That makes the books tie in with the previous books.

The Jason and Leo team-up I've been waiting for, only for Jason to be captured. The dwarfs were a fun, light-hearted addition and Leo making homemade weapons is a stroke of genius. (I can't wait for those little bastards to wreak havoc on the camo Jupiter people (that's what I am assuming). (hide spoiler)]

Bob is back! I wondered what happened to him actually. Can't believe Hades made a badass Titan into a janitor though. It's I guess some sort of revenge for the Titan war

Frank is feeling down while two variation of Ares are practically having a pissing contest inside his head. That has got to be freaking annoying.

Chapter 13 - 18 (view spoiler)[ It's so good to see Bob again (and kinda that they're getting their asses kicked, I mean, they're in literal hell, it would be awkward if they're overpowered)

Poor Frank, stuck in a creepy city, with creepy cow-like animals and two kids of the death, even if one of them is your girlfriend. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 19 - 24 (view spoiler)[ I do like Frank, but I feel that it's a bit ridiculous that he has grown all more muscular and bigger from the blessing of Ares/Mars. In the last Olympian, Clarrise got the same blessing and she suddenly didn't get buffer.

Tartarus sucks. The Last Olympian reference was nice, Small Bob, another throwback, is cute. I like how they found a shrine to Hermes, and that it actually connected to camp. Creepy bat ladies are just creepy. (hide spoiler)]

For some reason I want the old Frank back. I'm not really a fan of sudden appearance and personality changes. And damn, that turtle situation was really tough. And I always forget there were some bad demigods as well.

Also, I can totally understand Bob not fighting for Percy, and I can understand Circe cursing Percy. They fell in love and he just left, never thinking of her again.

Percy's... darker side is kinda showing trough. I mean, Bob was their best way out but still, lying did him no good. The arai are pretty creepy, and I feel for Annabeth. (hide spoiler)]

Percy admits his wrong-doing to Bob, who is like a crazy, broom-wielding janitor. I never want to have to fight him.

Can I throttle one cupid? Because I really want to. But I like that a kids book is actually going there. It feels a little bit of a waste of Jason's POV, as it was all about Nico. But I get it, that way the surprise wouldn't be a surprise. (hide spoiler)]

Annabeth It was funny to see Percy being carried like a sack of potatoes. The addition of Damasen makes it interesting, as it shows that neither titans nor giants are evil.

Piper I'm so pleased with Piper's chapters. Like, while she thinks about Jason, she also thinks about the rests, uses the things others had taught her (Hazel's mist manipulation and Annabeth's strategising) and singlehandedly defeated Khione and the Boreads. I'm like, finally.

Percy Seeing Percy so dark is just, wow. Like, holy shit dude. I mean, I get it, but it was just a surprise to see. But it was also awesome.

Leo I'm conflicted about Leo and Calypso, as it's quite fast, especially as Calypso didn't really like Leo in the beginning. I mean, it's cool that he's trying to get off the island on his own but it's just, does everyone has to be in a relationship???

Annabeth Annabeth sweet-talking Night itself was cool. (hide spoiler)]

Jason Harnassing fire-horses is great, and I like it that he tries to be closer to Nico, despite that Nico isn't all that cooperative. I also feel for the guy, he's stuck between two camps and we got little insight in his mind (as there were only a few chapters about him).

Percy I feel bad for Bob, like, poor lad. Poor Titan. Tartarus in the flesh is scary, like, how are they ever going to make it???

Frank I'm conflicted about Frank. I like Frank, but he gets little page-time, and last time, he got his Ares buff and now he became Praetor, commanded a ghost army and now his job is over. He kinda deserves better.

Hazel It's nice that the tension between Leo and Hazel has eased, though it would've been preferable if there had been no romance on Leo's part. But that's just me. She totally kicked ass and was being awesome. Her fight against the giant, together with Hecate

Percy Well, not much happened. Well, that's kinda a lie. He narrates the round-up and the set-up for the next book. Overall, this book was a ride and I didn't realise how fast I tore through it. (hide spoiler)]

Things are sure heating up with the Romans, they are so close to war at this point and also a fun fact. The city called Split is where I spend every summer 'cause the beaches are just amazing.
“We’ve arrived,” Leo announced. “Time to Split.”
My new favorite line to tell people during summer.
Nico and a challenge of love. Most interesting thing in this book so far XD

The Tartarus story of Annabeth and Percy somehow reminds me of the Sea of Monsters book, idk why.
The explanations for the prophecy just got another meaning for both sides. I wonder if we'll lose someone at the final battle.

Piper sure is managing well. I wish if her character grew more, all she did so far was comparing Percy and Jason, then drooling over Jason. Then mocking herself for being Aphrodite's daughter

Damn Leo's battle with the Giant was sure somewhat underwhelming. Though it's awesome Percy and Annabeth are back.

And it's done. I'm kinda happy this was a happy "ending" since that last one was a huge cliff and I couldn't possibly accept one more haha.

Though since the last book didn't have any cliffhangers I was kinda not feeling all the pressure I should since this is the last book in this series (hide spoiler)]

Looking at the content, I really don't like what POVs there are.

It was nice to see Jason improvise a little, showing off his cleverness, and that there were some familiar faces. Jason's mother's appearance was a bit random though.

I feel like Reyna's chapters should've been first. But up until now, they weren't much more than an info-dump. Hence it might have been better suited in the beginning. (hide spoiler)]

Leo. Well, I like Calypso plenty, but right now, she frustrates me. All Leo can think about is Calypso. It's nice to see the relationship between Piper and Leo being explored further, as previously, it was Jason & Piper and Leo was a good third wheel (and later a seventh wheel + being a part of a love triangle). The fight against Nike was hilarious. I brought in some fun to the book. (hide spoiler)]

13-18 (view spoiler)[ I didn't realise how much I missed camp when all the familiar faces popped up in Nico's dreams. This makes me want to pick up the original series again. Clarisse, Connor, even the new faces like Butch. I already see Reyna turning into a sister-figure towards Nico.

Well, the good part of Piper's chapter is that she will be teaming up with Annabeth and that she had teamed up with Frank. Like, the less time she spends with Jason, almost the better (I really sound salty but I'm fearing 'The Lost Hero' all over again). (hide spoiler)]

Also is it me or every demigod, except Percy, have seen their parents at least once in this series,

Also, I think Piper's my second least favorite demigod in the group of 7 (8 actually, I count Frank two times). Though it will be sure a pretty action-packed battle at the end, so many enemies are waiting for them!

I absolutely love seeing the Amazon's and the Hunter's of Artemis again, seeing the familiar faces again. The fight was awesome, Hylla was awesome and I can't wait to explore Reyna's past further. (hide spoiler)]

I really enjoy the bonding between Reyna and Nico, though it's a little bit forced. I feel for Reyna though, ending up killing her own father because it was just getting too much. Bryce is just a creepy guy and I am curious what his fate will be. (hide spoiler)]

Reyna's POV... is kinda too late if you ask me. If this was book 2-3 I would have liked it at lot but in this book it just feels like some sort of a filler. Nico somehow sees her as the big sister figure though. And RIP in advance Bryce, you really shouldn't have pissed Nico off.

Calypsooooooooooooooooooooooo, why??? It was fun to see him wield and diel with Apollo, though the two chapters surrounding Ascelepius were the most fun, their 'idiot mode' made me snort and the return of All da ladies luv Leo was a nice touch. I'm a bit annoyed that Reyna's chapter is next, postponing the final battle (at least in Greece). (hide spoiler)]

37-42 (view spoiler)[ I imagine that it would be an amazing sight to see a statue being carried by a group of pegasi. Her fight with Orion was kinda cool, and that she kinda made peace with her past (and that Athena came to her aid!)

Of course Piper can sing well. Sigh What a cliffhanger to hang on! It's cool that they were disguised as Earthborns (and the cute Percy and Annabeth moment). Frank as a swarm of bees is funny. (hide spoiler)]

43-48 (view spoiler)[ F*ck yes! Piper just threw her knife at a giant and stabbed another one, freezing her over. I wish there was more of her friendship with Annabeth in this book. And now they're going to kick all the giant's arses (probably).

I like Nico's POV, and seeing Camp Half-blood again, some Greek demigods, Nico trying to reason with Octavian and Gaia awakening! Also the Greeks and Romans teaming up in the end. I feel like so much happened in these chapters while it was pretty short. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I must say I could re-read the chapter when the gods joined the demigods to battle the giants any time. I like how Rick Riordan took care to tie up his loose ends and set up for future books with the punishment of Apollo.

The Greek and Romans made up and I'm glad for that. Though it seems that Rick Riordan gave up of Percy Jackson and Annabeth and just gave them a happy end. I really don't like this as I want more of Percy and Annabeth but meh, what can you do.
