Just started. I actually read this one before but a really long time ago. Everything's very very vaguely familiar when I read it, but I definitely couldn't remember any plot points.

Chapter 1: (view spoiler)[ A fast-paced start! I like it. I'm not on board with the Piper/Jason pairing yet but we'll see how that goes. (hide spoiler)]

So it's a pattern with Rick Riordan to name his main characters after mythical heroes, I guess! First Percy and now Jason...

(view spoiler)[I'm really enjoying the book so far, I like having three main characters and being able to read from all of their perspectives. All three of them seem to have a secret and I'm really curious to see what Piper is hiding.

It has also been really nice to see Anabeth, Rachel and Chirion back in this book. (hide spoiler)]

Actually all the mention of characters and events from the original Percy Jackson series is confusing me because it's been so many years since I last read it. I remember nothing! Maybe I should have reread the Percy Jackson series before starting this one.

Chapters 1-20: (view spoiler)[ I'm not happy with Piper. I always liked Anabeth for being a smart, strong, Hermione-type woman. Piper on the other hand spends so much time thinking about Jason and worrying about what people think of her. I wish she could be more self-assured and focused on important things, especially since she's the only female main character in the book. She needs to represent ladies for the awesome heroes we are!

Leo is great so far, he's clearly more than just the ethnic comic relief guy. I think Leo is just as heroic so far as Jason, if not more.

Chapter 14: (view spoiler)[I'm really disappointed at how easy it was to guess the God parents of Jason, Leo and Piper. Jason could fly, so, of course, it had to be Zeus. Leo kept tinkering with machine parts, so Hesphaestus. And don't even get me started on how many times we heard how beautiful Piper was. So Aphrodite it is! I would have liked a little challenge in this guessing. *stomps foot and pouts* (hide spoiler)]

About their parents:
(view spoiler)[I totally saw that Zeus was Jason's father but I couldn't imagine Aphrodite being Piper's mom. Now that I read you I see that there were some clues but I didn't get them at all haha I also wasn't expecting Hesphaestus being Leo's dad (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I like the fact that there are many secrets and mysterys and I can't wait to continue reading to find out what happens next. I LOVE Leo's character and I find him hilarious. I also like Jason. As you say, Piper isn't one of my favourite characters of the book but I hope that she does something to impress me (hide spoiler)]

Percy was fated to destroy the world. But it actually turned out quite well. Only if Leo knew this... Might have given him some self-confidence...

I'm guessing that that sleeping lady is Gaia. It has been mentioned that she wears a black dress with a shroud, right? But when Jason went to visit Hera, she was also wearing the same thing. Perhaps I'm reading too much into the details... but this seems a bit suspicious, imo.

Piper definitely made some efforts in the "supermarket" there. But I'm still not satisfied. Annabeth raised my expectations real high. And Harper is clearly not standing up to them. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I was just about to share the same theory! I think it's Gaia too. She shows up in the earth and talks about being everyone's mother. Definitely sounds like Gaia. But why would the earth goddess be evil? Doesn't make sense to me.

Other theory - Hera talked about an exchange. What if she exchanged Jason for Percy? What if both got their memories wiped and then while Jason was dumped into Camp Halfblood, Percy went wherever Jason was before? Seems likely.

Leo is basically the Hermione of the story now. Underappreciated by the gang even though he does all the dirty work! Poor Leo, I love him. (hide spoiler)]

I'm now in chapter 32 and

(view spoiler)[I had no clue about who the mystery evil lady could be because I don't have a lot of knowledge about mythology (although I love it) but now that I read you it's very possible that it is Gaia.

I loved the Shopping Centre part with Medea, and Piper got a little better for me. I'm now reading the part where they are in Midas house (I guessed the man was Midas before they told it, yay!) and I have the feeling that they are about to get in some more trouble haha (hide spoiler)]

I am so far behind on Lost Hero, but I plan to finish up to at least 75% tonight. I still haven't read all of Titan's Curse. Will that have any effect on this series so far? I don't think there's much I'm not getting right now.

Not really. I don't remember much from the Percy Jackson series and I'm doing fine.

That's good. I'm only at 15%. There are spots with Annabeth and the Camp and some other campers I'm not familiar with but stince Jason is the MC I think it'll be okay. I'm reading Titan's Curse right now too.

Chapter 2: (view spoiler)[To be quite honest, I'm not a fan of the writing at all. I think what I'm having trouble with is the third person point of view. It's just hard to get used to after Percy Jackson because that was in first person, which allowed me to connect with the characters—even secondary ones—much better. I also just don't find the story as gripping as Percy Jackson was at the start. (hide spoiler)]
