Linda (httpgoodreadscomlinnievic) | 15 comments Allow me to be the first to comment. Though I write in various styles, mostly non-fiction, I have only published children's books so far. I have four published children's books plus three of them are also in eBook format.

I feel particularly drawn to the 3-7 year age range and just love how impressionable and open-minded they are at that wonderful time of life. I feel a strong sense of responsibility to impart a message with a life lesson that will appeal to their innocence and help to shape beautiful, caring and giving attitudes toward others. Each message is aptly illustrated, colorful and memorable and I am told by parents, that their little ones love to emulate the expressions of my characters. That tells me that my stories have left a positive impression on their little minds.

My titles are:
Sunshine and Her Big Blarney Smile!
Activity Story Book: Sunshine and Her Big Blarney Smile?
Sunshine I'll Make You Smile! (4th edition)
Andy-Roo: The Birthday Surprise! (winner of 2013 Kart Kids Book List Award for Creative Storytelling)

Linzi Wilson | 5 comments Children's books are so important! They help so much with imagination, literacy and communication. And also hopefully develop a lifelong enjoyment in reading. Can't wait until I have children and can share with them Alice in wonderland, secret garden and Peter Pan to name a few! Have special editions sitting waiting should I ever be lucky enough :-)

Linzi Wilson | 5 comments Your very lucky Max! Do you still discuss some of what your reading with your parents?

I was read to as a little child but it wasn't carried on past toddler as my parents had no interest in books. So I'm now only discovering children's classics as an adult.

I think with my children id start early and make it as fun as possible. Voices, animated faces, acting, whatever it took to get them into the short book to start with and then as they got to the age of understanding more than that's not my lion we would start with classic children's novels a chapter a night.

I think whether they are inclined to read or not in adulthood quality time with parents and a pathway to learning and opening the mind is the certainly helping towards the best start in life.

Of course I only have dogs and understand life gets in the way of our ideals...

Michael Coady (coady2y) | 1 comments Hello, while my debut suspense-thriller novel 'The Darkest Corner' is very adult in content, I do have a fondness for children's books (Huge J.K. Rowling and Joseph DeLaney fan). I am currently working on book one in a children's fantasy series (Eliza Twitchel & The Haunted Forest). I'm new to Goodreads and look forward to meeting other children's authors. I would be interested in how you promote your books.
