Karly Baterna | 2 comments Ok, I've been looking for a few years and I can only remember fragments of the plot. I read it in middle school, in the years 2009-2010, it wasn't in any recommended sections, but it was fairly thick and (Maybe) it had the word "Book" in it's title?

The notable feature in this book is that it shifts between two seemingly different stories, but really it's past and present. Two major characters appear in the early chapters.
The first, Character A: a space explorer, he is chosen by mankind to colonize a new planet with a few other humans in cryogenic sleep. He is awake in majority of the chapters he appears in, mostly talking to AI units. Later in the book he finds the suitable planet, tying into the other part of the story.
Character B: A young man, raised by a strict father. The father seems to die, leaving the boy to go on his own. Somehow he has these powers that manifested after his father's death, allowing him to see through multiple dimensions (Or something of the sort). He is accused of murdering a young boy, and thus adventure ensues. And that's all I can remember of the beginning.

To be honest I remember almost finishing the book, but never did. I'm trying to recollect anymore details, but it's pretty hard considering that was like 5 years ago...
