Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments Alexander, had been looking for the heart of the forest for.. well as long as he could remember. He'd come close once or twice but it seemed as if it was always moving further away to where he was. But that had been when he was much younger and the threat to his life wasn't in the balance. "I'll do my best. I've come close a time or two but that was when I was much, much younger.. but I remember the way. If not though, I have a few hide outs that we can use until things cool down." He assured her quite so not to cause any alarm to where they were. Heading for the little door and sneaking out, heading away from where the voices where coming from and towards where he remembered briefly where the heart of the woods was.

It startled Lia that he even knew her name instead of simply 'chamber maid' or 'girl' like people so often referred to them as. But didn't show it seeing as she didn't want to appear as desprite or even... startled really. If she where to be honest. "They do, all stories hold some truth to them no matter how unlikely they may seem. Although, no human has ever been able to find it, that much I do know. But I do know another way around this crowd, and with some luck we may come to find the heart of the forest. "

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments Eventually the sound of the villagers faded. Aaliyah had no control of the situation. It felt like she was holding an eternal breath there was a deep fear of getting caught, but as they traveled deeper into the forest the less fearful she became. "Mother use to tell us stories about a fairy princess and prince. They always had happy endings. I know she told us these stories because of father. Apparently fairies always know where the heart of the forest is located. Obviously, knowledge of fairies are limited considering no one has seen them in years." Aaliyah felt like vomiting. "I don't feel too well. Can we stop by the waterfall?" Her voice died down as she heard someone coming. It sent shivers down her spine. Something didn't feel right.

"Lead the way." Jayden encourage. "If we find the heart of the forest. It will be a safe place to stay the night." Follow your heart mother always said. What was his heart telling him right now? To kill the dragon and get revenge. Eventually they rode deeper into the forest. "Let's stop at the waterfall to let the horses drank." He unmounted the horse at the waterfall. "

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments Due to his better hearing Alexander was able to judge how far away the people they heard where. Pressing a finger to his lips to let her know to be quite. Steeping behind one of the trees nearby to hide their location. "Shhh, lets wait for them to pass then we can go to the waterfall.." He assured her. Turning his head slightly to see if he could make out who was coming.

Lia nodded having taken up the lead so that she could lead them on a detour around the mobs of dragon hunters, seeing the waterfall up ahead. She could stand to stretch her legs for a bit while the horses drank. "Okay. " Leading her own horse to the water then getting off and walking around for a bit.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments Someone's here." He mouthed at Lia. "Come out of the shadows now or I will kill you."

Aaliyah recognized the voice. It was her brother, but it wasn't her brother. It sounded like her father. She got out of Alexander's arms and walked into the clearing. "Brother what are you doing out in the forest?" Asking cautiously.

"You're alive?!?!" Jayden said exasperated. He saw a figure. "Why are you travelling with a dragon. He must die. After he is dead you will be dealt with."

Aaliyah's faced pale how did Jayden know Alexander was a dragon? "Brother what is wrong you sound like father? What is wrong?" The dark forces at work were making her sick, although, Aaliyah didn't realize that was the case.

"Nothing is wrong. I simply doing what will father proud." Jayden was under a dark spell.

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments Yes, how did he know what he was? Or was he simply jumping to conclusions hopping that he was one or that anyone she traveled with would of done just as well no matter if they were or weren't. While he knew he was her brother seeing as she had said as much, she had talked about him as if he was loving and nothing like their father. This sounded more as if the king were speaking then his son or anyone for that matter. Unless... there were spells. Dark and Light. Like everything else there had to be Light to even out the Darkness. Spells and witch craft included. Was it possible. Even slightly. That somehow the boy had fallen under a dark spell cast by someone to be put upon him? Steeping out of the shadows. No use in hiding. "Are you sure, that I am what you say? Or are would you take anyone to be a dragon even if they were not one to appease your father?"

Lia, even though she was not around Jaydon much, despite being his chamber maid. Even she knew this was not him. The man used to be kind and despise his father and all he did, in way of treating people. Now he was sounding just like him when he had no liable prof. "Ja---- um Sir, are you sure your quit well? Not to speak out of line but this dosen't seem like you..."

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments Jayden eyed everyone. "Of course your a dragon. Can't you sense his magic?"

Aaliyah raised her eye brows. Magic? When could he sense magic? And why would she be able to sense magic? "Brother stop it. Please don't listen to father. He is a horrible man, and you know that. Father told I was dead and a dragon killed me. You want revenge. Please calm down?" her voice pleaded.

"You think you can just leave without telling. You're so naive if you think father will ever trust you. We are nothing to him. But we have to follow the rules." He snapped at Aaliyah. Her words calming him down. "You're selfish for doing what you done."

Aaliyah stopped dead in her tracks. It is possible that her is under a spell, but that wouldn't explain how he knows Alexander's secret. Jayden always had this temper and it rarely came out, but when it did it reminded her of her father's. Aaliyah walked over to her brother and pushed him into the water. "Snap out of it. You're anger and sadness are getting to you again," she commanded. Ignoring all everything he screamed at her. He was right about everything. She was selfish and naive.

Jayden swam to the surface. "Look I'm sorry. I thought you were dead and the dragon killed you. I can't loose you Layla"

Aaliyah eyed her brother. "I know JJ, but I'm fine." Quickly moving on to a different topic. It was know use dwelling on her brother's anger. Why did Lia appear so similar as her mother's chambermaid? It was probably nothing. "We need to set up camp. It is getting pretty late."

The king frowned when the spell wear off. Who undid the mage's spell?

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments ((quick question before I respond. Did Layla undo the spell by pushing him in the water? And question two: I just thought of this. But should I have Lia know a little bit of magic or no?))

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments ((I kinda of left up to interpretation for now. I know later I want both Layla and Jayden to be revealed to be the fairy prince and princess from their mother stories, but I am unsure how to go about magically abilities right now. Yes I think that is a great idea for Lia to have some magic))

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments ((Okay. I wasn't sure so thought I'd ask. I wondered if you where planning to do something like that but thought that I'd see where you take things instead of straight out asking. I'll figure out some kind of magic for her then.))

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments Alexander wondered if he should worry about the boy killing him in his sleep tonight. Regardless, of rather he could see that his sister was fine and well, he still clearly had a dislike for dragons. Crossing over to set his pack down on the ground. "We can set up here tonight. No one ventures this far into the forest at night so we'll all be safe.... Um. I'm going to go and get some fire wood.. I'll be back." While he would of stayed warm enough without he knew that they wouldn't, through out the night seeing as out this far it got cold when night fell. He could sense the magic but sometimes it was better to play dumb then to risk putting your neck on the chopping block.

Lia, thought that was a good idea, seeing as the few times she had went camping with her family out in the woods when she was much younger it got cold fast. Deciding to let him go, rather or not Jaydon had a problem with this plan was another but ultimately she didn't have anything personally against the dragons. "I'll start setting up camp then..." She told them.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments "I'm going to go with Alexander." Aaliyah limped over to Alexander. It probably wasn't the smartest plan to go with him, but she needed some time away from her brother. "Hey, Alexander I'm sorry about my brother. He has always possessed a temper." Aaliyah also wanted to talk to Alexander about what she thought of her earlier. "My father clearly doesn't trust me, so saying a dragon killed me gets both of us out of the way," she whispered quietly. "Brother doesn't know who killed mother. The people framed her chambermaid and a dragon didn't do it. I am so sorry for getting you into this mess. Please feel free to leave any time you are much safer that way."

"I guess I will change into some dry clothing." He whispered softly. Realizing he blanked out again. It always happened a lot as a child, but after a certain point his anger died down. When Jayden's mother died his anger resurrected. "I'm sorry Lia if I caused you any trouble. I am not typically an angry person." He said causally as he unbuttoned his shirt.

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments Alexander didn't blame her seeing as it wasn't her fault. Shaking his head at her apologize as they walked. "it's alright, seeing as even if I leave people want to kill me. I stay... well safety in numbers right? Even if one of those said people did just threaten to kill me at least I know ahead of time. Your father... he doesn't seem like the nicest of people.. from what the two of you have said about him. Her chambermaid? Why in the world would the people think that?" Maybe the girl was known to practice in magic of some kind so they thought her a witch and in turn that turned to her being guilty. It most ceritinally wouldn't be the first time that had happened and he was sure it would most likely not be the last.

Lia tried to advert her eyes as he went about unbuttoning his shirt to change. Focusing on setting up the small tent thing she had packed as they spoke. Although it surprised her slightly that he wasn't an angry person seeing as with all the snapping about he did, one would most think him angry all the time. "No, no trouble at all... I understand you believed the dragon to kill her before we learned the truth, but regardless of what everyone thinks of them, I simply don't get it. There hasn't been any dragon attacks within the Kingdom for many years now, so why do people consistently hunt for it when it causes no harm?" She hadn't meant to ask the question out loud. Not really. But now that it was out she had to wonder what his answer would be.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments Aaliyah shrugged her shoulders unsure how to respond to Alexander. "They were responsible for the rebel attack. A lot of people died because of the attack, so why not hold them responsible for my mother's death too. He will put pause on the rebels and get rid of mother at the same time. It makes since politically, but at the same time it seem unethical; however in the end that is politics." Biting the insider of her cheek Aaliyah thought about what to talk about next. "What did my brother mean about me sensing magic? I know he wasn't himself, but it still has me wonder. I don't have any magical abilities. I am just an ordinary Princess."

It didn't occur to Jaydon to put back his shirt on as he turned around to face her. "The dragons and the rebels killed my mother. The Kingdom lost their Queen. The people want them gone. Father gave them plenty of chances to leave. Although, the rebels are trying to do something good they just went the wrong way of doing it." Slipping a shirt back on. "Also forgive me for my attitude earlier if father found I was nice who knows what would happen."

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments In some messed up way Alexander supposed that made sense. Blame the dragons on the rebels and in turn, make it look as if the rebels killed her mother. Although then that would mean that the chambermaid would of had to have been with the rebels. Unless that was the idea an he had wanted it to look like that. Which made him wonder what Jaydon believed had killed his mother. "Wonderful game politics." He mumbled, seeing as in truth it wasn't. "I didn't want to say anything about the matter, seeing as sometimes it's not wise to stick your neck on the chopping block and better to act as if you can't tell. But it seemed to me as if someone had hired a mage in order to put a spell on him. The purpose and reasons for it was unclear however, I'm a dragon not a physic or a mage, but I can sense the use of magic when its attached to someone or someone has a spell upon them. He most clearly did. However, when you pushed him in the water, it somehow broke the spell. Either you did so without being aware of it when you touched him or getting knocked into the water did it."

Clearly. Rubbing at her forehead as she turned back around having finished setting up. Finding him only now slipping into a new shirt. Almost afraid to voice her own belief on how The Queen had died all those years ago now. Her mother, had been The Queen's chambermaid, and while she along with father knew that she wasn't to blame she was still hung for her disloyalty to the throne and killing the queen. She had stopped using her last name after that. Afraid that someone would realize who she was and go after her next. While she knew a little bit of magic herself she never used it unless she had no other choice. So she knew that the truth. The Dragons hadn't killed their mother. Nor had her mother killed theirs. It was an ever going debate on what had happened. The Rebels, the dragons, the rebels and the dragons working together, the chambermaid.... it was never ending. Although none of those she believed. She. In her personal opinion thought it to be The King. For some reason or another he had wanted his wife gone out of the picture and so had killed her then set it up to make it look as if the rebels had done it along with the dragons. But for her own safety she would never voice her thoughts on the matter to him. Giving a shrug. "It's forgiven, I understand why you behave as such at the palace. As do many others, either out of fear or simply because they are that way is anyone's guess and it's not in any way my right to say either way."

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments Aaliyah stopped dead her tracks. "I can assure you I have no magic. You can even try to sense magic from me, but I guarantee you I have no magic." Part of Aaliyah was confused on why she was so adamant that she had no magic. Both of her parents were humans. There was never a time in her life she thought her parents to have magic. Although, there were many unexplainable occurrences around her mother, but that didn't mean the answer to it was magic. Unexplainable things happened to everyday people. Aaliyah carefully picked up some wood as she had no desire to reopen her wound. The sun was quickly setting down on them. A yawned escaped her mouth, "We should probably head back so a fire can be started.

Jayden half nodded. He hoped his sister would return soon. What if his sister ended up actually liking the dragon? No that could not be. His sister would not end up with a dragon or anyone she meets in the forest. Jayden sat down by the river. "If he lets anything happen to my sister. I will kill him." For the longest time he was the only one who actually protected Aaliyah. "She hasn't been the same since mother's death. I know it is hard for me, but she actually saw our mother be killed. After that she became reclusive. Every night having nightmares about our mother."

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments Alexander had not meant to seem as if he was coming off as if he was accusing her of something she was not. That was the furthest thing from his mind. Holding up the hand he had free from holding the wood he'd been picking up as they went. "I don't have to do that. I was simply laying out what I knew and listing things it could of been. I was not stating it was you who broke the spell, seeing as if you did possess any type of magic I would of been able to sense it while you where healing. I did not. We should, it gets cold out this way after nightfall, so it's best for us to hurry back to start the fire." He agreed waiting for her to go first so that he could see them safely back.

Lia, wasn't sure rather he meant for her to respond or not. But she figured if he hadn't wanted her to say anything about it then he wouldn't of commented it out loud. Knowing how protective he was of his sister, only reinforced it. Going over and sitting down by him but making sure to leave a wide gap between them. "That must be hard,--- for both of you. I'm sorry." Taking a moment to gather her thoughts.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments Aaliyah pivoted her feet in the direction where their camp was located. The topic of magic chilled her to the bones. Especially after the nightmares she had each night, but Alexander did not need to know about the nightmares. Eventually they arrived back at the camp. She noticed her brother and Lia near the river bank. Aaliyah knelt down to start building a fire. "I think we should all talk about what is our next move. We cannot stay here and I can't go back to the palace."

"Why can't you come back to the palace?" Jayden asked.

"Brother isn't it obvious. Everyone thinks I am dead. Plus I stole and lost a horse." Aaliyah sighed unsure if she should say what she was thinking out loud. If she went to the Rebels and the Dragons build an alliance with them. Then she attempt to find other magical creature. Ultimately building an army big enough to destroy her father and rebuild the kingdom.

"Whatever you are thinking on doing. It is too dangerous." Jayden eyed his sister. "You already took a big enough risk today. For once think about what could wrong?"

Aaliyah grew quiet for a moment. "I understand you want to protect me, but I am not a child anymore. As far as I am concerned I have nothing else to loose," she snapped. For a brief moment Aaliyah's environment came alive. She could sense everything around her including the magic coming from Lia and Alexander. Her face turned white. "I am sorry. I am just really tired everyone. I should have not reacted the way I did." That was the only explanation for everything she just felt. Aaliyah was simply exhausted.

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments Alexander, had sensed it then. But he was smart enough to let her think what she must for the time being. Which was that she was simply tired and needed some rest. Not saying a word. He'd bring it up at a later date, when all of them weren't on edge and tired. Steeping forward, "Eh... why don't you go try and rest then.. I can finish up the fire." It was the only thing he could think to say.

Lia listened to the exchange of words between brother and sister before getting up. Having to wonder rather or not Aaliyah had any magic despite what she may believe or think. Seeing as it had felt as if someone had slapped her across the face within that moment of anger. Hesitating about putting a hand on his shoulder, but then went ahead. Having an idea on what he would do. "Let her be, for now. We'll all be here in the morning then we can decide what to do..."

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments Aaliyah bit the inside of her cheek. "No I am fine," she quickly said finishing up the fire.

Jaydon frowned. "We all are tired, which means we all should probably get to bed." He gave a light smile to Lia.

"I'll stay up and watch the fire." Aaliyah said she would not take no for answer. Sleep was the last thing she wanted especially not in the safety of her own room. Alexander and Lia didn't need to know about the nightmares that plague her dreams.

((Sorry it is short. I feel like we need to skip to morning or possibly them going to search for the Rebels? Just somewhere in time that is interesting. ))

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments ((Maybe to morning, so we don't skip too far ahead of ourselves. Then they can make a plan to go after them and how to go about it?))

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments ((Okay))

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments Aaliyah eventually went to sleep. She managed to only have one nightmare about her mother, but it didn't make any sense. Her mother had a beautiful pair of wings and the King ripped them off. Everything about that nightmare was vivid and felt real. Aaliyah realized the others were sitting around the fire talking about the game plan. "I want to find the Rebel Camp and the Dragons make alliances with them. Then find other magical creatures. If we can get enough people we can overthrow the kingdom."

Jaydon practically spit out his water. "Layla, I have to go back. If Lia and I don't go back then father will be suspicious. We will lose important information from the palace."

Aaliyah frowned. "Couldn't you and Lia be the eyes and the ears? Insiders will be crucial to make this work. If it gets too dangerous I will find a way to yank both of you out." Pausing for a moment. "I'm sorry Lia and Alexander for putting you a part of this plan without even asking you. It is obviously dangerous. I would not want either of you risking your lives. You just met me."

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments ((Sorry left you hanging last night. We got looking at stuff for the work kitchen, seeing as we entered this thing an I won it so now we gotta find stuff to spend 175 on....))

Alexander didn't have a problem with it, plus with any luck they could clear convince people that the dragons wheren't dangerous. Maybe a silly thought considering they flew and breathed fire. But it was worth a shot. And if he were to be honest he was risking his life every day by simply living. Shaking his head. "No need to be sorry, I'm down for it." Well maybe that wouldn't help his points with her brother but... then again if they stood a chance of overthrowing their father then... wasn't that alone worth the risk?

Lia, while able to perform magic, was a little less up for it but then again there was also the chance that if it did work. And they did overthrow the Kingdom.... then that would get their father off the thrown and no one wanted that more then she did. So because of that alone it was worth the risk. Seeing as she'd much rather see Jaydon or Aaliyah on the throne then him. As she was sure many others would like to as well. "Well, I guess if we're going to do this we might as well do it right.. so you can count me in too."

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments ((Nah it is fine))

Jaydon huffed. "Okay we'll do it." His eyes shifted to Alexander. "If anything happens to my sister. I will personally murder you." Jaydon sat up and walked over to start dismantle their camp. After finishing dismantling the camp he walked back over to his sister. "Here's some money. It should be enough to buy you some new clothes and camping gear." He also handed her map.

Aaliyah rolled her eyes at her brother. "We'll be fine, but we should probably head out before the villagers arrive." Aaliyah whispered softly. All of her things were on the horse that ran off. She smiled at her brother's gesture. "Thank you JJ." This whole mission was going to be dangerous, but it will be worth it. Carefully looking at the map. "Father has all the rebel camps and dragon lairs outlined. It looks like the main one for both rebel and dragon is in the Snowy Mountains. I guess we should head their first Alexander. After getting the appropriate supplies."

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments ( :D )

Alexander could understand Jaydon's feelings towards him, but he would try his best not to let anything happen to her while they were gone. Getting up as well. Giving the two of them a moment before going over to talk to him. "Then I will be sure to return her safely, to you. I know that you don't trust me or my kind, and would probably rather see me dead, but I don't mean you nor anyone else any harm. We will be sure to send word to one of you once we have more information to pass along." He told him then held out his hand in offer for a shake.

Lia, watched the two of them, she knew Jaydon's feelings towards dragons but at least the guy was willing to give him a chance not out right hate him for hating his kind. That was something. Plus she could sense that he meant well. Gathering up everything he had packed, and putting it on their horses for the ride back. Turning again to wait for them to finish up.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments Jaydon shook the Alexander's hand. "Okay." Jaydon said softly. He knew if they were successful life would be different. "We should head out too. Father won't be too thrilled we came back empty , but it is what is." Jaydon sighed and mounted his horse. He looked at Lia to double check she was ready to head out.

Jaydon didn't feel like talking to Lia on the way back. He was worried about his sister. "Last night my sister looked freaked out about something. You and Alexander seemed to notice. May you tell me what is about?" he asked.

Aaliyah stood up and started to head towards the opening of the forest. "Alexander the border is about a days journey. We can probably make it their by nightfall." The safest market would be located across the border. "You can lead the way through the forest."

As they headed deeper into the forest the it got darker. Aaliyah and Alexander exchanged some conversations here and there, but nothing lasting. Aaliyah detest silence, but she had a dozen thoughts running through her head. The closer and closer they got to the upcoming river she heard voices scattered around the forest. The voices were more like whispers and giggles. The voices became unsettling, so she quickened her pace hoping the voices would stop. The worse attribute of the voices was she could clearly hear what they were saying. "Alexander may you make these voices stop."

The nymphs were curious about the fairy. The last fairy they seen was before the rebel attack. Only beings with magic currently running through their bodies could clearly hear what the nymphs were saying.

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments Lia, had noticed. Although, she also wasn't sure that she should tell him when it was pretty clear at least to her. That Aaliyah wasn't ready to admit it to herself, and would rather go on believing it was simply because she had been tired. They all had been. But she'd still caught that look. That look of wonder and shock the first time you feel it. The magic around you, how you sense it from other people and not only what's in the room or outside by you. It was a lot to take in. Even more for Aaliyah to take in when she believed that she had no magic ties to anyone and so could not posses magic. Only that was wrong. She had seen and sensed as much last night. Taking a few minutes, to think on her words carefully. Then wondered if he was asking as The Prince or as someone that was simply traveling together. Deciding it was best to ask. "Are you asking as The Prince or as someone that's simply traveling with me?" Seeing as if he was doing the later she could refuse or at least decline to tell him. But if he was doing so as The Prince, then, she'd have no way of getting around it an she'd have to tell him.

Alexander could hear the voices as well. Although he tried to block them out the best he could. But, at the same time he found what the Nymphs to be saying.... interesting. However, she wouldn't be able to fully control what she did and didn't hear until she came to terms with herself and the fact she did in fact have magic within her body. That he knew though, would only come when she was ready, and not before. "I can try.... although I'm not sure it'll work." he told her, honestly. Seeing as he'd never done this for a Fairy before. Holding up two fingers, asking "May I?" It was an old trick. One not much used by Dragons. But he'd been taught it by a old wizard many years ago now. It was strange for a dragon or really anyone of his kind to be able to do it, but he had learned and had even in a way passed with flying colors.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments Jaydon looked over at Lia. "I'm asking as neither," he whispered softly. "I'm asking as a concern brother." He stared at the road ahead of them. "When sister and I were little inexpiable things happened to us all the time. Until about five when everything stopped. I wish I could recall exact details, but I don't. After mother died everything was less magical I guessed. If that makes sense." Pausing for a moment, "What I am trying to say is last night was the first inexpiable thing that has happened in years. I just want to know what it was" Little did he know magical powers for most magical beings started to appear before the age of five. At the age of five most beings would reach magical maturity, expect fairies, dragons, and mages could grow stronger.

Aaliyah tilted her head off to the side. Aaliyah was unaware that her and her brother were both fairies. "Okay. . ." she said hesitantly. "I am honestly willing to try anything to force the voices to stop." Magic made her feel unsettled. Aaliyah stopped when she heard her mother's name. That was the only thing she could make out. "Why are they talking about my mother? Do they think I am her?"

The nymphs giggled. They knew it wasn't the dead queen. They were just happy to see a fairy. "She's a strange fairy. No wings. It appears the dragon hasn't figure who she is yet. Or how much power she actually possesses. Or how her mother blocked her and her brothers powers. " The nymphs couldn't keep a secret if they tried.

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments Lia gave pause. She should of thought of that, but she hadn't. Biting her lip. It was.... a risk. To say the least. But if unexplained things had been happening at that age, then he had to have figured it out or at least a little bit of it by now. "No, it does make sense... Jaydon.. one thing you have to understand, if I am to tell you this. Is that not all magical beings are bad, most are just ordinary people, trying to find their place in life, get by. They don't go out looking for trouble most times, but sometimes, trouble finds them anyways an that's when they run away or try to hide in plan sight." She hoped he was keeping up with this line of talk. Seeing as it was very important for him to understand this part seeing as if he didn't then none of the rest would matter.

Alexander smirked at hearing the nymphs speak. They couldn't keep a secret if they're lives depended on it. Shaking his head. "No, Nymphs like talking, they couldn't save their life if it counted on them not talking." He assured her. This was not the place to have this talk. He'd hopefully get to tell her tonight. Placing his fingers on her forehead an muttering a few words quietly. "That should keep it at bay until we're further away.."

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments Jaydon eyed Lia again. "I know not all magical beings are bad. Magic isn't bad." He shrugged his shoulders. "I just don't like the dragons because they killed my mom." Pausing for a moment. "I'm not my father Lia. I may have anger issues, but I am understanding. I don't need you to act condescending as if I hate magic." The closer they got to the castle the less he wanted to have this talk. "We can continue this later." He wasn't angry with Lia because he knew how the people felt about the his family.

Aaliyah eyed him cautiously. "Thank you," she whispered. The voices stopped temporarily. Until they arrived at the river. The nymphs were louder than they were before. The giggling freaked her out. "We are about half way to the border. The river is the half way point." She wished there was a faster way, but they didn't have horses. It was more concerning that they had to cross the river. The river was too fast to swim across safely. The more she looked at the river the more she felt something calling her. "I want to get out of this forest now. I don't like it." Everything made her feel uneasy.

The nymphs giggled. "Magic that has been locked away for too long is now being further suppressed. The forest guardian is calling her. Dragon you have a ticking time bomb on you. Your magic probably assisted in undoing the binding on her powers."

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments Lia let out a breath, as they rode. Not doubting he wanted to finish this later due to their close proximity to the Castle. Although she still had her doubts about how he would react once he found out what was going on. On some level she knew him and what he was like, due to being his maid. However she didn't know him well enough to be able to judge his reaction, and not worry that it may be something like his fathers might be. Biting her lip slightly. "Okay... I have a few things to tend to sense we're returning, but, when you do wish to continue this, you know how to reach me."

Alexander could understand her delima. Her powers had been suppressed for so long and even now she was unawereingly doing it to herself. Hearing what the Nymphs had to say. He knew that. But he also knew that the sooner he got her out of here and he was able to safely explain it all to her... the better off they'd be. Or at least he hoped. Voicing his own opinion on the matter by broadcasting his voice to them through mind talk much like they were doing. "Maybe... but you best mind your own business.' turning to her then. "I could fly us across, if you want.. it would be faster then trying to swim or walk it."

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments "Lia if you can get in contact with your associates for my upcoming event, that would be great." It was his way of asking her to get in touch with the Rebels. "I appreciate your help on the failed hunting trip. I have to make arrangements for my sister's funeral because father won't." He dismantled his horse when they arrived back to the stables. Hopefully his sister was not in harms way.

Aaliyah shook her head left and right. "It's too dangerous for you to fly. We aren't across the border yet. Until then we both need to lay low. We cannot afford to get caught." She was irritated and on edge. She looked at the gap between the river banks. It looked small enough she would be able to jump successfully. Walking to the edge closing Aaliyah closed her eyes as she jumped over the river. Landing on the other side without hurting herself. "Let's keep going." Aaliyah was smart she was connecting the dots quickly, but she didn't want to believe the answer. Didn't want to believe her and her brother were the fairy princess and prince from her mother's tale.

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments Lia, gave a faint nod, to his request. "I will get right on that. Your more then welcome. " she told him with a faint smile, pulling it so that it looked more sad and comforting then anything else. Getting off her horse as well handing the reins over to one of the boys that was there to greet them. Wondering how he was planning to do the body, so people wouldn't suspect.

Alexander could respect that, it was a risk any dragon ran the risk of taking if they flew. Crossing the river with her, looking around for any signs for anything. But then kept going. Casting a look at her every once in a while, to see how much she was figuring out or if she'd already done so. But for the most part kept quite.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments Funeral for his sister would just be for show. It would be weird if the King didn't have a funeral for the beloved Princess. Pausing for a moment. If he became his father's puppet he could get important information and pass it along. "See you can find me a personal assistant too." Jaydon said walking off. It was time to play a friendly game of politics.

Aaliyah twiddle her fingers. The nymphs started to quiet down. The closer they got to the border the colder it started to get. She was excited to cross the border it would be an new experience. After the the situation with the nymphs Alexander was quiet and so was she. Aaliyah was absorbed in thought. All of her nightmares about her mom made sense. The disturbance in her memories made sense. Magic was the explanation. "Last night when I I felt something really weird."

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments Lia, nodded going on her own way, as well once he'd walked off. She had her own things to sort out. She needed to get in touch, with the rebels and try an get them to agree to what they were planning sure that it wouldn't take too much. Although she knew it would take some. As for the personal assistant... she didn't know who she would find to be one of those. Seeing as if he was planning to use them to play games with his father... then they'd need to be trusted to a point. Or if he simply wanted one for helping plan the attack,-- well then. She had a few people in mind for that. But decided it best to double check. First though. She would be sending out a message to them.

Alexander looked over at her with a bit of caution, but still couldn't help but wonder where this was about to go. "Yes?" He asked encouraging her to go on. Wondering if she'd figured it out this morning or if she'd already been on this train of thought last night. She was smart by anyone's means. But he had been able to tell, when he'd meet her that she had no idea who she really was.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments Aaliyah bit the inside of her cheek unsure how to proceed with this conversation. "That's just it was really weird. It was probably just me being tired. You said it yourself you didn't sense any magic from me. And no one from my family has magic." Disregarding magic felt wrong. "Let's just keep going. We should be to the border soon." Aaliyah was right they were to the border soon. She didn't expect there to be border patrol.

"Whose crossing?" The guard asked.

"Jacqueline and Liam." Aaliyah replied softly. The guard inspected them including their weapons. He could sense magic from Alexander, but not the girl.

"Liam may pass. This land is a refugee for magical beings not humans go back to your King." The guard said.

Aaliyah's demeanor quickly changed. "King Jensen is no king of mine." she whispered coldly. The wind started to pick a little bit. The roots from underneath the trees grabbed the guards feet. "Let me pass." Aaliyah didn't realize she was causing the disturbances around her. After all she was only using a basic fairy magic.

((I'm thinking for a response for Jaydon and our other one.))

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments It was clear to Alexander that the guard didn't sense any magic coming from her. Seeing as if he had she would of passed along with him. Taking in what was happening around them. The wind, the roots moving and trapping the guards feet to the ground... it was pretty clear. Going to the guard and saying quietly. "Let her pass, she has magic within her, although it is locked away, due to lack of use..." that was all he could say without risking too much.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments ((I am so sorry I thought I responded to these in January!!)

Aaliyah froze. Alexander was crazy, she didn't have any magic. The image of Alexander talking to the Guard disappeared; and transformed into images of the past.

"Children settled down. I have a very important story to tell you." It was her mother's voice. Both Jaydon and Aaliyah sat down.

"But mother Jaydon keeps making my dolls disappear. Tell him to bring them back."

"Jaydon you know the rules no magic." Her mother tensed. She was so beautiful. "Listen, I have to have you guys forget about magic for a little while. Don't worry before you know it you will remember magic." Her mother started to sing a beautiful song. A beautiful song who suppressed all magic and memories of magic.

Aaliyah saw Alexander still talking to the guard. Her mother took away their magic and memories of magic. A sharp pain shot through Aaliyah's body. As if the spell prevented her from thinking and forced her to suppress her magic. "Alexander, I don't feel so good."

The nymphs started to laugh. "What will the dragon do to break the Queen's spell that is eating the princess alive? Bond with her seems the only route, but dragons don't take that lightly. Maybe attempt to reverse the Queen's spell, but only and Elder or the Queen herself could do that. And they don't have time. Forcing her to forget about the last two days will work. Or perhaps let her die." The nymphs loved watching chaos unfold. "Tick. . . Tock . . . Tick. . . Tock. . . Tick. . .

The guard glared at the nymphs. "If what the nymphs say is true. She is ticking time bomb and you don't have time much to reverse the whatever spell it is. After you reverse the spell you both may pass."

Aaliyah vaguely heard the nymphs and the guard were saying. "Alexander." Panic started to rise in her body. "Magic. I have magic don't I? But magic is wrong. I know it is not wrong, but I feel like it is wrong. What's happening?" Aaliyah could feel the world collapsing.

Jaydon sighed. A sharp pain started to a rise in his body. Aaliyah something was wrong with Aaliyah. What was wrong with his sister. Jaydon started to resist the urge to go save his sister. He started to tremble. "I swear Alexander if I go after you and something is wrong with my sister I will kill you." he muttered to himself.

Jaydon knew going after Aaliyah was a mistake. A mistake they could not afford to make. He could feel everything she was feeling. Dinner would be soon. Lia would be walking in any second. Maybe she would know what is wrong with his sister and why he could feel his sister. His vision started to blur as his room started to transform into a past memory.

"Jaydon, my handsome little prince, one day you will be your sister's protector. A quite powerful protector indeed, but you will become so much more. Until then you need to get some sleep."

"But mother, I don't want to protect her. She's annoying and follows me everywhere."

"I know son. I don't expect you to understand fully right now. My brother felt the same way and in the end he did everything to protect me, but I made the decision to come with your father." She kissed his forehead. "Your sister is going to be a very powerful Queen. She's going to do many great things and she needs someone like you in her corner. Good night my little prince."

Jaydon felt tears trickle down his face. He was back in his bedroom. Why didn't he remember this conversation taking place? He had to get to Aaliyah. "No you have to stay here." he whispered to himself.

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments Damn the Nymphs. Usually Alexander wasn't pissed off by them an could easily ignore them and their babble. But this time was different, seeing as if the guard had simply let her pass they may not be in this situation. But now the same guard was telling him that the only way he'd let her was if he reversed the spell that was on her. They didn't have the bloody time for this! While most dragons didn't even consider bonding someone to them it may be the fastest way for him to do this without hurting either one of them too badly. Even if he was slightly... unsure of the idea. Seeing as if he did that then they'd be bound forever. Until one of them died and even then the other would feel the effects of it until the bond fully broke. No matter how powerful he may be he couldn't go about uncasting it seeing as only two people held that power an that was not him. Growling at the whole situation although anyone else would take it to be him growling at the guard. Going back to where she still stood, looking a bit unsteady on her feet even more so then she had the night before. "Look at me, focus Layla... Magic is very real and it's inside you. It's always been there waiting to break out. But it feels wrong because of the spell put on you to make you forget everything you know, about it.. I need to break it, now so that... so that you'll live. But I need you to trust me for me to do so. Do you trust me?" Seeing as if she didn't then he couldn't go about doing anything to help her.

Lia had been going about sending out her letters to the people she knew before going to get dinner for Jaydon from the kitchen. Walking into his room without even a knock this time seeing as something felt... wrong. Feeling her eyes widen in shock as she took in the look on his face and automatically knew what was going on. Placing the tray down on the closet table before starting over to him. "Oh my god....Jaydon... come sit." She told him starting to lead him over to the bed to sit down. Sitting down next to him seeing as he was bound to have questions. Questions that would take time to answer.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments "Listen, I know this isn't the ideal situation for you two, but I cannot let her power be awaken in the land. I don't know how destructive it could be, but I am not going to put other people's lives in danger." The guard hissed.

Aaliyah looked at Alexander. "Magic is real?" She could barely make out what Alexander was saying something about trust. Alexander could have left her die when her father's guards attempted to kill her. He could have said no to her crazy plan. He could be letting her die right now. "You haven't given me a reason not to trust you," she whispered. Aaliyah leaned on Alexander to prevent herself from falling. She was confused so confused. Focus, she felt as if she had to focus on Alexander.

"Tick . . . Tok. . . Tick. . . Tok. . . what is going to be dragon?" The nymphs laughed.

Another pain went rippled through Jaydon's body. "I have to stay here. I have to stay here." He looked at Lia for a moment. "Lia, I need to go. I need to protect her. Please please don't let me go. I know I can't go, but. . ." Jaydon took a deep breath. He didn't know how to explain any of this to Lia. He didn't know how to explain the past memory.

Jaydon took a deep breath. Focus. "What is happening to my sister?" he stammered. Focus. He was relieved Lia was the one to walk in. If it was anyone else. Who knows what would have happened. "I swear if Alexander doesn't protect her I will rip every single piece of flesh off of his body."

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments Of all the...... ya know what. Screw the guard. He wanted him to get this under wraps and controlled but he also didn't want her power hurting people. He could screw off. Giving him a warning growl to not interfere again before he turned back to her. Nodding. "So you trust me?" he asked just to make sure. When she said yes, he held her up and so that she didn't fall seeing as she would be on her way to the ground if he didn't hold her. Closing his own eyes an starting to whisper the old words. While most dragons would be applaud at the idea of bonding with someone you barely knew to save their lives Alexander was not. It would take some getting used to for both of them but, it would... work, an be the fastest coarse of action right now seeing as it would put the plan in risk if he made her forget the two days past.

Lia shook her head as she keeled down in front of him so that they could be eye to eye. "No Jaydon... she's not in trouble... this it would of happened sooner or later either way. We both sensed it, last night. Both Alexander and I. I should of told you on the way back, I didn't realize it would happen this soon. Jaydon, magic.. magic is very real. This. What's happening right now, this is your sister and you both waking up. It's painful I know, but it will pass, with his help."

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments "No Lia my sister is dying." Jaydon snapped. "I'm sorry I don't mean to snap. . . I had a memory of my mother telling me I am protector of Aaliyah that I can sense when she is hurting. Apparently, my Uncle was the same to my mother." Jaydon didn't feel like any different. "I seriously don't feel like my magic is waking up. I feel I need to go protect my sister."

Aaliyah heard some faint words. Words that didn't quite make sense right now. The pain was quickly replaced with her whole body on fire. Something more than magic. She gripped onto Alexander tightly afraid to let go. Aaliyah was unaware of the dragon's bonding tattoo appearing on her shoulder. Her eyes flicked open, they were bluer than ever, but you could see the dragon's fire in her eyes.

A big explosion of magic erupted in the atmosphere. "Alexander. . ." Before she could continue her sentence she collapsed into his body.

"Boom. . . Ooooo this situation is going to get interesting." The nymphs giggled from the shadows.

"Aaliyah." Jadyon whispered at the sound of the explosion. After the explosion everything felt fine. "Mother used the word protector. Lia do know what that means?

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments Alexander had known that it was a risk and one that Jaydon may never forgive him for when they met up with each other again in the future but that problem would come in it's own time. He had fought back his own pain in order to hold her up an try and comfort her the best he could right then while he did so. Seeing as he had also gained a new tattoo. It would be a copycat of her's, although while her's would land on her shoulder as all the females did his would be shown on his arm. To let all other dragon's and would be at one point people he could of bonded with that he was no long in search of one. Waiting a moment more before gently lifting her up so that he could carry her. Looking to the guard. "Now let us pass."

Lia looked towards the window. Even from this distance they had still heard the explosion. While she didn't know what content it had been used in she had a pretty good idea. Sucking in her bottom lip as she picked her words wisely. For now putting aside the fact that he was the prince seeing as right now he was a considered brother first and foremost. "Jaydon... I'm not a fariey. But I've heard the stories, growing up. I hate to be the one to tell you this but I have a feeling neither of you would know because it seems as if she wanted you both to forget. But... a protector in Fey terms means just that. Unlike so many of their hidden meanings in other words and such that one.. it has no hidden meaning behind it. Should she go into battle for any reason or someone was to threaten her life with danger rather it be obvious or not you would feel the need to step in and stop all harm from coming to her. In the coming weeks, sense we are to stay here and gain information from the inside, it may be.... hard at times to surpress that feeling. I'm not saying that at every turn they make their will be danger, but at some points, we all knew that there would be some. When she is put in that situation it will be hard for you to not go to her and protect her. But in the end, when it comes to this, remember that the best way to protect her is to stay here. No matter how much your body tells you differently, an she has Alexander to keep her safe while their gone."

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments Aaliyah curled into Alexander's body. She was so tired. Every fiber of her body felt on fire and alive at the same time. She could feel nature around her. But she felt safe in Alexander's arms.

Aaliyah wasn't sure how long she was out, but she snapped awake in a bed. Her eyes frantically searched the room for Alexander or anyone. The room was empty. Where was Alexander? Why was she worried about Alexander? She just met the guy. The world was alive. She could feel magic everywhere. Then she noticed the tattoo on her shoulder and let out yelp.

Jaydon nodded his head slowly. "Okay." he whispered. He still felt jittery and on edge. "Whatever caused that explosion my sister was there. Knowing my father he will want someone to investigate. It will probably be me because alas the dangerous forest and my father wants me dead. If we can find someone to go with us. Someone who is on our side. Then we should be fine." Jaydon needed to take a calm down before someone came in. "Lia you should leave. I don't want anyone getting the wrong idea." Lia was attractive, but Lia was also his chambermaid.

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments Alexander had come across a old friend of his, from before he had relocated to this area. He was also a dragon an had made the move some years back, he had known that he wished he'd come as well out of fear for his safety but he had remained. Not willing to give up hope quit yet. Good thing he hadn't been. Walking into the room that he had put Aaliyah in when they had arrived at the house some hours ago. "Hey, your awake.... " letting it drop when he saw the stunned look on her face.

Lia stood up after being crouched down to look at him. "Call if I'm needed to pack for us again, should he want you to look into it.. I've sent letters out, to some people I know and trust that fit what you wanted. I expect to hear back within the week." She told him seeing as she was sure that he would want to know. Glancing to the door when there was a knock on it, giving a curtsy to him for show before heading for the door.

onceuponatimeareview | 8405 comments "Alexander why do I have tattoo on my shoulder?" Aaliyah looked at him partially relieved to see he was okay. "And where are we? How long have I been out Most importantly what happened?" Aaliyah noticed a similar tattoo on his arm. Alexander had a lot of tattoos, but the one on his arm. "What did you do?" Aaliyah demanded. Everything that happened since the border was blurry. "Alexander, you better start explaining." Aaliyah knew she was still weak, but that would prevent her from getting out bed and walking towards him. She barely made it half too him before she felt her knees give out. She swore under her breath.

Jaydon nodded. "I will delay the journey as long as possible, but I would write back to them explaining the situation if needed be. I will." Jaydon gave a light smile and crawled into bed forgetting about his now cold food. He wasn't hungry. He was exhausted and needed sleep. He only hope his sister was okay. Jaydon knew she could handle herself around Alexander, hopefully she wouldn't give him too much trouble.

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 13291 comments Alexander reached over an caught her before she would of landed in the floor. Scooping her up an carrying her back to the bed an sitting her down on it once more. Before sitting on the edge of the bed himself. "If the situation wasn't as dire I'd say your a persistent little thing... as it is.." he said having known that she had spotted the tattoo that matched her own on his arm. "What do you remember?" Thinking it couldn't be much sense she had been out for a couple of hours at the most.

Lia let him go to bed removing the tray she had brought in earlier from the table. Opening the door, seeing that it was only someone come to deliver a message an had sat it on the floor outside the door. Frowning however when she saw that it had her name written on the front an not his. Quickly shoving it in her pocket an starting back for the kitchen.
