Design Contest!

Do you think you have a better idea for our current masthead and icon? Here's your chance to prove it--read through the requirements below and then get to creating. When you're finished, post your two images in a comment on this thread. The mods will look at each submission and finally decide which one will be our new thumbnail.

The prize is a $15 gift card to the bookseller of your choice or two audible.com credits.

All entries must be submitted in this thread by May 1, 2014.


Requirements:
1. Your images must be original and free to use.
2. Your images must be clean.
3. Your thumbnail image should be about 115 by 115 pixels.
4. Your masthead image should be about 970 x 245 pixels.
5. The two images should go together.
6. Your images should be relevant to the group and should contain the group's name.

Note: the winner may be asked to make minor tweaks to their image in order for it to be used, while keeping to the spirit of the design.

Places to Post:
If you have a place to do so, feel free to host your image there and post it here. If you have no corner of the internet you call your own, you can host the image to the group itself by following these steps:
1. Click here and then click "add more photos" on the far right of the page.
2. In the "title" space please put your name so we know who the image belongs to.
3. Post a comment here with your image in it.

Tip: Post hosted images like this: [img src="IMAGE LINK HERE"] but replace []s with <>s.

I have submitted my entry (masthead + thumbnail) to the photo section of the group. :)
All artwork is my own. Images were made in Adobe Illustrator and are fully editable.

Even though you said that the Mods would vote (which is perfectly fine), I just think that maybe the members of the group should have a vote too. I just think that voting is fun and people like to have a voice in what goes on. Maybe the Mods' votes could count as like 15 normal votes so that the Mods have a bigger say in which design wins...

Thank you everyone for voting for this design! - But, I won't be able to take the credit for it. It was actually my younger brother's design, which he made out of his own leisure after I told him about the contest. He does not have a goodreads account so he sumbitted it through mine. I am very proud of him and he is excited and thankful to you all :)

Congratulations Zia. I love the new design. It looks fresh and fun and it has lots of orange in it without it being overpowering (I seem to have a thing for orange at the moment.)
