Yes, definitely read this book. I don't know if you've read the Twilight books, but this one is better than Twilight and (I feel) a lot more mature.

Yes, this book is amazing. It seems really long if you get the actual book not the ebook. The only thing i dislike is the main characters name.If you've read the Twilight Saga, and liked her style, you will like this book. The characters, in my opinion, are better and the writing itself is more mature. I highly recommend reading it, and then seeing the movie. But of course the book is better.

I really enjoyed this book. I've read it a few times and I suggest taking your time and really read this book. Pause at all the commas and read with feeling...it'll be soooo that much more enjoyable.

I enjoyed The Host. I read it before I read the Twilight series and I thought The Host was much better. A lot of people find the beginning really slow and it is.. but if you can get past that, the book isn't so bad.

Ok, looks like I'm on my own here, but it don't agree. The idea and the storyline are excellent and intriguing enough that you have to read to the end. But sadly, the writing is not great and doesn't draw you in the way this story would in the hands of a more skilled author. The book had some interesting ideas but I found the execution wanting. The only reason I was able to finish the book was because I listened to it on audio during my commute between home and work.

The conflicts were muted such that I never felt any real concern for the characters. The storyline seemed too formulaic and well trodden. Meyers didn't break any new ground. It was Twilight with a pseudo-sci-fi spin.

I liked "The Host". I even like the movie afterwards.

I didn't read "The Host". I listed to it on audible and that would be my preference for this particular book.

I agree with AD. It is better than Twilight. Also, this is now planned as a series of books with at least two more on the way.
