We've got the hardware already, so....

The conscious mind on the other hand is pretty good at putting the pieces together and 'predicting' the future, particularly with respect to survival. :)
1) It's pretty common to have a gut instinct turn out to be correct. We've all had it.
2) All said "vision" would be is an hallucination of whatever your intuitive gut is already suspecting. A premature signal from the brain. Nothing fancy!
Of course, when hallucinations DO occur, they are nothing so tidy or accurate. In fact, if you have not been doing drugs, and aren't insane or sleep deprived, but are still hallucinating........you've probably got a brain tumor. Lovely!
I am wondering if anyone besides me finds this odd, given that it's an entirely different story when you're asleep. Prophetic dreams are no more mysterious than a cheesecake, as your brain is doing what it does when you play chess: think ahead, and then think further ahead. Hence, when you're dreaming, you predict the future.
I would think we could easy-peasy do it when we're awake too, considering we've already got the mechanics to hallucinate.
Is it because our conscious mind cannot yet handle such a thing? :P
