Kampai...
i just started a blog sonyave123.blogspot.comfeel free to comment if you have read some of the books I've listed to read or already reviwed
I have one, but I am so embarrassed about it because I do not do it all literary and fancy and use $2.00 words. I just tell the basics of the book and what I think about it. I would feel so shy about telling y'all about it!

So share your blog Autumn, who knows it may inspire somebody...

Your so-called $2.00 words could very well prove to be priceless when it comes to someone who is inspired by your feelings about a subject, a book, and in general, LIFE. So swallow your fear of embarrassment and let us be a witness to your life....share. (smiles)
I love discovering new book blogs. Both people who write about their own books, and their writing journey, as well as people reviewing and reading books.
This is a great thread.
This is a great thread.

You are a wonderful person and you have an amazing story which needs to be shared with people out there. Gimme a shout if you want to blog, it is not much hassle setting it up. Just some though for food.

Blogs are like opinion pieces in a newspaper without an editor... :)
Here is my book blog, I do not post all my books for now, just the ones for my Eclectic Book Challenge.https://autumnmemorys.wordpress.com/
I'm still tweaking mine and figuring out all the little gadgets to make it worth looking at. Here is mine. I've post reviews as often as I can. Autumn, I absolutely love yours! I love the squiggly scarfs! :o)

The story is so gripping that it would really be impossible to keep the book down once you have started it.

Review - Dangerous Vows
The overall feel of the novel was really nice. A mystery without going dark.
Use SomebodyGenre - Romance / Mystery / Suspense / Drama / YA / YA Dark Themed / Thriller

This is a dark love story. The story is in first person and alternates between past and present at frequent intervals.
Wow! Lots of great blogs, I'm going through them now, so much great information. I have a blog, I not only look at books, but also movies and television. I concentrate on the genre of noir. I've just started a blog, Crime Library, where I will be discussing crime fiction: history, genre definitions and conventions, authors, novels, my reviews, and writing styles and techniques etc. Only two posts so far:Hardboiled vs. Noir
Mysterys vs. Thrillers
but I'm enjoying myself!

I have two blogs. My new one is dedicated to indie author who publish everywhere. I just got it up yesterday. Drop in and help me grow this resource.https://everywhereindies.wordpress.com/
My other blog is my all-purpose blog that includes various musings and occasional reviews of mysteries set in New Mexico, and interviews with the authors.

I've got a blog crimeworm.WordPress.com and all are welcome to come and say hello, comment, give recommendations, even follow. As to Sharon above - I started nearly a year ago, on WordPress. I'm hopeless with technology, but I had my first post up within 20 minutes! All I can say is - go for it! It's THE BEST way to meet friends with similar interests - in the last year I've made so many super friends, and gotten contacts in the publishing industry to get new books to review. You can also use NetGalley to get egalleys of the latest books. Just review them, and you'll get plenty more! It's saved me a lot of money, and I've learnt a lot, plus its kept me busy in the best possible way! If you read anyway, you might as well do it!Crimeworm.WordPress.com

Thanks for the heads up re: NetGalley. I'm also looking for crime fiction to review.
If you like crime thrillers and would like a free Kindle copy of The Breaks, the first in my series, there's an upcoming promotion scheduled for the next couple of days. If you want to get an automatic notification of when this is happening, please add your details here: http://www.edensharp.com/
Thanks and best wishes,

Dana wrote: "I need help choosing a blog site. Any suggestions??? Havent blogged in years."Depends on your knowledge of code, some people choose Blogger because it's so easy. Wordpress.com is free but limiting, Wordpress.org needs a host site. Wix, Ghost, loads to choose from.
Wordpress seems to be taking over the world but needs a little knowledge.
I like Blogger, it's just so easy and you can buy really cheap premium themes if you want.
Yep I went with Blogger and it seems to be pretty easy. I started mine out and it will take awhile to build it up.http://danalarimreads.blogspot.com/

Nice reviews Dana
Looks like you are doing OK, just to say, I found that your post with the all white background much easier to read than the ones written in white lines, might be helpful for other old codgers like me!
Here's mine if you want a look, I mostly do audiobooks, the theme is new to me and I know I need to fine tune a few things
http://audiothing.blogspot.com.au
Because my eyes are getting bad....probably from all the reading...I thought the white background woukd be better. I like the way yours is laid out Bec
Someone to review my blog? I'd love it!!! Please take a look and let me know what you think: http://authorrobkaufman.com/blog/
Rob wrote: "Someone to review my blog? I'd love it!!! Please take a look and let me know what you think: http://authorrobkaufman.com/blog/"Looks good Rob. I like the clean white space and the pop-up to sign up is slick.
I think it would improve with the use of more visuals.
In terms of additional content I'd suggest:
a) articles that relate to the world of your book e.g. if you have a character that frequents bars in San Francisco, do a review of quirky establishments that might appeal to tourists (this might then attract those visiting SF and encourage them to buy your book as travel reading and to get in the mood)
and b) curate other people's content on a topic e.g. find out what people are searching for on Google (a topic that you're interested in) and add a snippet of each to your blog with links out to the originator's full articles and add your own bit of commentary.
Criteria for content - useful or entertaining.
There that's my dollars worth!
Best wishes,
Eden
Thanks, Eden! That's really good info. and some great ideas. Can't wait to start looking into your recommendations. Thanks again!

Rob wrote: "Someone to review my blog? I'd love it!!! Please take a look and let me know what you think: http://authorrobkaufman.com/blog/"Lovely clean, crisp site, less is more, I'm not keen on sites with all the visuals, too cluttered and look so dated.
I love your site. I didn't get any pop up though - for which I'm thankful
Thanks, Bec! More great info. Hmmm... no pop up? I'm sorry to say, there should've been one. It's one way to get people to sign up for my blog. I'll have to check on that! :)

You did a great job, I couldn't cope with Wordpress despite its reputed simplicity, had to go back to Blogger. That's a an amazing offer you have going, at least, it's still going in Australia. I have problems reading on Kindle so will wait for the audiobook, then I can review it on my blog
