I think Darek feels bad that she was taken from her old life, but he is glad that she is with him because she reminds him of his humanity. I can't believe he used to kill vampires and then he was turned into one, especially after his mom was killed by one. (hide spoiler)]

Finished! It was pretty good. I can't believe (view spoiler)[Ben was at The Shade. I'm surprised that Sophia wouldn't let Darek kill Lucas, but I understood why and glad that she didn't. (hide spoiler)] Overall, I really enjoyed it, but I thought it was too short.
