Teresa | 2189 comments Hi this is my first group read too. It's been many years since I read this one so it can't have been a favourite. I'm reading it in paperback from my Heyer collection. I found it very tough going at the start and didn't know how I was going to get through it. However, a couple of chapters in and I was hooked once more. I didn't guess who the villain was even though I had read it before. Thought this aspect was very cleverly done. And the Step-Mother reminded me so much of the Dowager from Downtown Abbey. She had some priceless dialogue. On the whole I was glad to read it again and will definitely be looking forward to the January challenge.

Kim Campbell | 9 comments I fell way behind so here is me catching up!

The ball is just about to happen, there have been a few 'incidences' (I'm pretty sure I know who - but not sure I know why yet - who is obvious, but why, not so much yet) and Drusilla is incredible!!

One of the unforeseen consequences of aging, I have found, is that Heyer's terrible old battleaxes are now nearly all younger than me!
