There are some characters that stick with us forever. Am I right? I'd love to hear your opinions on what makes a character memorable.

I'd have to say I fall in love with characters who have integrity (even if they hide it). One of my faves is the honorable bad boy. Is that an oxymoron?

Katharine Sadler | 51 comments I love a character with quirks. It makes them memorable and it makes them seem more real.

message 6: by Jenn (new)

Jenn For me it's that unique quality of a man that puts his woman and family first and shows no fear protecting them from any kind of danger. But is also tender and loving.

Julianne | 18 comments Oh I love the honourable bad boy...those are my favourite, when they try to be bad (and really are oh so bad) but deep down they have a heart.

For me though it's the flawed, quirky characters that seem more real that endear me the most. I want to know them irl. (I also would like one of those bad boys irl but that's a different thread lol)

Megan (megandurrence) | 63 comments I love when a character has witty comments for everything or just makes me laugh in general. Which pretty much comes from all books written by Veronica Blade or Jennifer L. Armentrout. They crack me up :P

I also agree with the honorable bad boy comment. I could marry Adrian Ivashcov from VA or Roth from White Hot Kiss. Mmmmm ;)

♥ Adrian ♥ I would have picked him.

Vera M. I like quirky, snarky characters.

Rose was out of her mind when she dumped him. Great for Sydney, though :)

I enjoy the tortured hero too. It's fun to watch their journey. It can be overdone sometimes, though. Like if we're constantly being reminded that he's messed up.

A. Fae (truthaboutbooksbyafae) I love a character that is easy to relate to. For instance, the female characters in two series of books I've read by Lisa Olsen are completely easy to relate to. One of them--even after being turned into a vampire--is quirky and nerdy. I LOVE that she could be your average every day girl.
