Are these separate books, or is the one without the cover art really an AISN number instead of an ISBN?

Separate books - that 555------- is a relatively common ebook ISBN10 style.

ISBN's do indeed continue to confuse me -- when they are truly separate editions and when they seem to be multiple ISBN's applied to the same book. But that is neither here nor there right now.
