This quote was kind of a shocker because he has just exited Hell Week and he starts talking about how this is one of the hardest things so far. Marcus had to join into another SEAL group because of the time that he had put off when he broke his femur earlier doing other testing. After Hell Week, the instructors congratulated them and told them that since they had been able to endure Hell Week, they could do anything on this planet. If you think about excitement you get just by accomplishing something small, multiply that by 100, thats how relieved the men of class 226 felt after they had completed the most brutal part of the training. What made it so hard was that you had to do everything in the freezing cold ocean, and when you got something wrong, or had a time that was just seconds off of what it needed to be, you were screwed and ended up having more physical punishment. When I read this, the only thing that came to mind was how far off this was to how hard an Epps summer workout is. This is like that, except on steroids, actually double the amount of steroids and you'd be close to half.
