Lea flicked her tail back and forth nervously, ready to move--although there wasn't exactly a lot of room in the small tank. She wondered, somewhat absently, about the flare. If Dorian had seen it yet. If there was anything anyone could actually do to help them. She felt awkward, insecure, violated for being stuck while the two men in the room stared at her for a good minute. Almost sighing in relief when they turned away from her, her nerves picked up again as the men walked closer to the weapons, then past them towards Lilah. She felt so bad, because Lilah didn't have to be there, shouldn't be going through this.
Lucas looked over the second...mermaid? That word was weird to him. Mermaid. He looked over the second mermaid for a moment before pulling out his phone, to call his boss at the lab. Talking for a minute, he told his boss that this was the real deal, they should do some testing, and get the two girls off of the boat. Giving instructions to send a team and a large vehicle, he planned to simply transport the tanks.
Looking over at the first tank again, he finally asked: "Do these two speak english?"
((Oh this is so bad I'm super sorry next one will be longer I promise.))

Lilah's lip curled back scornfully. It was as if he hadn't even seen her. He probably hadn't. All he saw was likely a new experiment, a novel one, one that would make him famous. Lilah sank back through the water, hand pressed to the top of the tank, wondering if she was strong enough to push it off. Better not to risk it while the two men were still in the room.
She looked past the men at Lea worriedly, her face expressing her emotions clearly. She wanted to know Lea was okay for sure. She wanted to talk to Lea. But neither was really possible, so Lilah contented herself with knowing that whatever happened, she would get Lea out unharmed - no matter the cost to herself.

Glancing around pessimistically, Dorian's eyes alighted on a small object poking out from beneath a fan of coral. "One second," he said to Corin, distracted, and dove down towards it. The sun glinted off it as he approached, and momentarily blind he reached a hand out and grasped the object. It was a choker necklace, a small snowflake set in the front. It looked familiar... Very like the bracelet he had gifted to Azalea. Knocking away a few bunches of coral, Dorian pulled out the bag half-hidden behind where the necklace had been.
Corin shot him a questioning look as Dorian swam back up to him with a few powerful stroked of his tail. "The princess's bag," he explained, holding it up. Corin began talking again, but by then Dorian had already tuned him out, thoughts running windmill through his head. They had to get the princess out, but how? Interrupting Corin mid-sentence, Dorian held up a hand. "If we set our forces upon every sea vessel that comes further than the shallows and send the humans some sort of message demanding the princess and her bodyguard in exchange for peace, do you think it'd work?"
Corin stared at Dorian like his half-brother had just gone stark-raving mad. It was a stupid, crazy plan, especially since the merpeople had the lower hand when dealing with humans... But what choice did he have? Give up?
Not an option.

I hope we can still be friends? If you'd like me to... I guess I can delete it. It's just that at this point, I've put a lot of work into it too...
I'm really sorry.))

-__- But anyways yeah! I'd love to maybe help you out with the group, if you want my help (if you make me a mod I'll give you the uniform page I created XD) It just kind of felt bad for me to get an invite, and then read something that looked like my own hard work rearranged, ya know? Especially since Melisquish is mod along with you, and she always invites me to groups, so I think that she was probably trying to hide it from me? But yeah we're all good...I really like rping with you soooo...I'd just like to maybe get credit for at least inspiring the idea?))

Of course! If you want to be a mod, I'll definitely make you one :) It was your basis of an idea that got me started. I don't think Meli is mean like that, I think she just didn't want to hurt your feelings or anything.
I like RPing with you too, you're really good ^_^ I'll add a blurb for you to give you credit :) ))

I, umm, saw your status about wanting to make a group, and I'm kinda in this mental state - I made a group, I was recently made a mod of another, and well, if you're still looking for help and aren't pissed at me, then I'd be happy to help. And, since I won't be on as much come school, there's no chance of me taking over.))

But once I had this group and it died and I went on a semi-hiatus, and when I came back one of the other mods had basically taken control of everything and changed the way it was being run, and the organization and everything. It sucked :/ but yeah I'd love your help, do you want me to message you some of the things I was thinking?))

Okie dokie :) And yeah, sure, that'd be great!
I might not be on that much longer tonight; I've been going all day and I'm exhausted :/ ))

Within a few minutes, the vans had arrived, and people from the aquarium had started moving the large tanks, carrying them off of the boat and into a truck near the dock.
Lea was seconds away from losing it when people came in and picked up the tanks she and Lilah were in, carrying them to some kind of vehicle. The water sloshed and Lea, with nothing to hold on to, was thrown around the tank. And then they were down and the back of the vehicle was closing and it was dark, something that was scarier than what had been happening before.

Lilah watched the man pace up and down the length of the room, looking conflicted. About what, she could not venture a guess. He likely didn't even believe that mermaids were as intelligent as humans. Stupid, ignorant, egotistical fools. If only these tanks didn't have these stupid lids. Or if they weren't so soundproof, at the very least. This stupid captain was probably some creep who kept these tanks in the bottom of his boat in hopes of finding mermaids or other rare sea creatures. Probably so he could auction them off to biologists at a high price.
When more men began to stream into the room, coming right up to the tanks and picking them up, Lilah looked at Lea panicking slightly. They were carried up a ramp and into this boxy thing with wheels, stuck in the back of it, and left in the darkness. As soon as the door thudded shut with a reverberation that sent ripples through the water Lilah was in, she pounded on the top of her tank. "Lea! Can you hear me?" she yelled. Curling up into a ball, she put her hands against the top and pushed, but she had no traction and no room to gain momentum.

Corin finally sighed. "You're right. We don't have many options. But that is a fool's errand. They have more power, what with their landwalker's technology and simply the fact that they can survive above ground and have the technology to send robots, submarines, scuba divers, and ships in and across the ocean. We are at the disadvantage."
"You think I don't know all that?" Dorian asked roughly, raking a hand through his hair. He knew the truth resounding behind every one of Corin's words. His half-brother had always been the wiser of the two. "Maybe if we harass them enough, sink enough of their ships, take some captive, we can make some sort of treaty. Look, Corin, I can't just leave her there."
