MS does like the Greek stuff, doesn't she? It's a great title for a book.
"Many early cultures believed thunder was an omen. For example, the Greeks thought thunder on the right was a good omen; however, the Romans regarded thunder on the left as favourable. Both agreed that thunder in the east was more favourable than thunder in the west -- perhaps because, since weather generally moves from west to east, thunder to the east means the tempest has passed."

He is one hot dwarf...(had to put the elapses in here)it's the ears! such sexy pointy ears and then there are the eyes, so piercingly blue! Be still my heart.
I feel so much better Jeanette. The carpet mess (still on going) has faded from my psyche.
Hi ladies! I'm going to start a chat thread, so we can continue off-topic chit-chat over there! :D

chapters 16 - 20 and it really just speeds up so that you can't put the book down. I see a lot of posts in this section wandered off topic and I can't blame them: you have to put the keyboard down and keep reading OR do something else entirely.
at the beginning of the book, I was reading slowly and carefully and I wrote long notes about each chapter.
but by chapter 17 I just jotted "she realizes she loves him. He rides off on a stallion".
and chapter 20: "she has amnesia, of course."
so I just kept reading until it was all over.

That's pretty much how I read 99.99% of my books; I start out telling myself I'll take notes and read with great care. And then I gallop on to the end! Even ones like Mary Stewart's which I've read before!

Really made me smile."
This is why I love our Goodreads groups; we've made so many great memories!

Elizabeth, I'm not sure why I have this old thread open but your comment made me smile. On my next re-read of TotR I will smile again!

Me, too, Jackie! Or should that be: Me ... to ... Jackie ;-).
The programming is weird, isn't it? I haven't been getting notifications from the Georgette Heyer group lately, although it's quite active, and lots from here instead. The latter is fine by me, but the former, not. I'll have to check my settings.

Bless you!! It does help for sure!
