pages 18-48: “I stared at the knotted roots of the trees on the creek bank, trying hard not to look like Id been called adorable”(Green 43). Alaska had just called Pudge adorable which kinda makes me mad because Alaska has this boyfriend who she loves and cares about but then in a sense is already leading Pudge on. They have been hanging out a lot and im sure even by the way Pudge reacted to her calling him adorable she knows he is kinda into her. If all the guys are wanting to hangout with her, she must be a pretty cool person. This book has countdowns to “before” and “after” this was one hundred and ten days before. I think that Alaska is going to cheat/break up with her boyfriend and start to like Pudge. Her boyfriend is not like Alaska at all, he is at Vanderbilt on a scholarship while she is at a boarding school with a bunch of guys. I do not relate to Alaska in any ways which is why it has been interesting reading about her. The way she prefers to hangout with guys and her rebellious type is so different from me it has been different to read.
