Jason Komito (JasonKomito) | 6 comments I self published my fantasy book in July and have had some pretty good success. I've been approached by a publishing house out of Europe who would like to publish my book and possibly the future books in the series.

I've researched the company but I know there are questions I'm not asking. Since they are located in Europe, should that worry me versus a house in the U.S.? Besides the financial implications are there other things I should be thinking about?

I'm looking for people to shoot me over questions I should be asking before I make a decision.

Thank you very much!!!

I looked up your sales, Jason and I see you did better on UK Amazon than the USA Amazon.
I have a friend who published in your genre. He found the small UK firm very helpful and honest. I will look up their name if you like ....

Sheila O'Flanagan (sheilaoflanagan) | 1 comments What rights are the European house looking for? Normally, you deal with English language rights separately to translation rights. The English language rights are usually split - e.g. English including the Commonwealth. This then allows you to sell your English rights to the US separately. In fact, having sold rights elsewhere is a bonus when trying to find a publishing house in the US.
