Faith | 6 comments Hi Everyone,

I'm confident someone will know the book series I'm thinking of. I think there were 5-6 books in the series. I use to see them all the time in book stores and now that I want to find them - I'm drawing a complete blank. I don't remember the author but the stories were about this community and the "spirits" that influenced it, both good and evil. I remember descriptions of demonic spirits hovering over a person and either whispering in their ear or implanting thoughts in their head. And there were other spirits that worked for good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you remember what age group the series was aimed at -- middle grades, YA, adult?

Do you remember anything about the tine period in which the book was set -- 1800s, 1900s, modern day?

Do you remember if each of the books had a similar story arc -- for example, was each one about a main character with a problem and the spirits helped him/her solve it, or were they mysteries that the spirits helped solve, or...?

Faith | 6 comments There were adult fiction. To be honest I don't even remember for certain if it was a series. I just remember reading the story. It was about a small town in modern times. The spirits for lack of a better term operated without the awareness of the characters. They didn't help solve mysteries but rather it was as if they influenced everyday happenings. Dark spirits would plant ideas of stealing, murder or suicide. I remember feeling there was a very strong religious theme to the story. Its been so long I don't recall anything more.
