The Little House Books, Volume 2, by Laura Ingalls Wilder, 978-1-59853-161-9, has an incorrect page count of 900 pages. Amazon has this same incorrect number: http://amzn.to/1k1hd6x . The correct number is 864, verified here on the publisher's page: http://bit.ly/1sytIdG (far right side of the page). Please correct? 864 is also verified by the copy I'm reading right now, if you count the copyright page and other up front pages, as they always do.

Are they numbered? What is the last numbered page, and is there anything following it? WorldCat, whose counting tends to be very close to ours, says 856.

The last numbered page is 856, and nothing follows it but the end leaf paper. The copyright page and other pages before the title page - photo of the author, blank pages, list of other books the author has written, etc., are not numbered, either with cardinal numbers or roman numerals, but with virtually every book I've ever read, the page count released by the publishers always include these pages. If you check the last numbered page on some of your own books and compare that with the page count given by the publisher, you will find they usually include pages that appear before page #1, and pages that appear after the last numbered page, even if there are no roman numeral pages. I don't know why this is, but it seems to be a standard thing in the industry. Crystal has already changed it to 864 in this thread, so that matches the publisher's number. I don't particularly agree with this standard used by publishers, but I think we should stay with 864 to be consistent with the method used for most all other books.

We have different rules for counting pages here, and using our guidelines 856 is correct. I have changed it on the book.

I agree that 856 should be the correct number, but now if we are to be consistent, we will have to change the page count for all 176 of the books I have listed and read here on Goodreads, and I would suspect the vast majority of all books listed by everybody on Goodreads. All publisher provided page counts that I've seen include unnumbered pages at the very beginning and end of the book.

Please feel free to request page number changes for every book you notice with incorrect pagination (using our guidelines, which i linked above).
