Melek (chaissar) Has anyone started this one? I'm a bit behind I'm afraid.

When will you read it?

message 5: by Melek (new)

Melek (chaissar) If no one else has started reading this one, I'll be glad to announce that I HAVE FINALLY STARTED IT.

Only, it's not interesting. In fact, it's a bit too boring. I hope that's only because I'm only %20 in. It was an okay bus read, but nothing that would keep me reading once I got off. I'll continue reading on the bus tomorrow morning.

I am definitely starting it today after I finish the next story that's on my list.

I'm now worried that it won't be as interesting as I thought it would be haha.

Melek (chaissar) You probably won't. The worldbuilding is nothing we haven't seen before and neither the characters nor the plot are unique in any way. (view spoiler) I can already see how it will end.

message 8: by Alberto (new)

Alberto (albertobalderass) | 564 comments Well.. I've finally started this and I have no idea if I'll end up liking it.

Honestly, (view spoiler)

20% in.

message 9: by Melek (new)

Melek (chaissar) I know, right? It's like, the author has ignored the overall story and just focused on Titus and Iolanthe while writing. Which was not a good idea. I've tried to read it the whole day and I'm only 28% done, that's how bored I am.

message 10: by Melek (new)

Melek (chaissar) I've finished it by skipping and skimming mostly and actually reading when I felt too guilty. I'm not impressed.

Alberto (albertobalderass) | 564 comments Well, this was definitely a book that started so-so but went on to be better.

I liked the setting of the story and the elemental magic, but did not quite love the spells that they use or how complicated some things were, in a bad way.

As for the writing, it was normal, although the vocabulary was very good, and I liked the fact that they had little notes that you could access in the back of the book.

I am not sure if I will be reading the second book, but I really want to know how the saga ends.

Alberto (albertobalderass) | 564 comments Did you finish it, Ang?

message 13: by Alberto (new)

Alberto (albertobalderass) | 564 comments Well, if you do read it and plan to continue on, let me know. It was okay, haha, I kind of want to know how the story ends up!

Shall I move it to read?

Btw, sorry for not finishing the others yet, but I got caught up in other stuff and they keep coming up, but I will soon, I promise.
