I'm trying to remember a fantasy book with super cool illustrations from my childhood. Actually they were not illustrations, they were great drawings. Even, they may be old style hand drawing illustrations. The book should be popular in 80s, or late 70s.

All i can remember about the story is there is a kid with injured knee, there is a war inside the kid's body (something like between white blood cells and germs). The drawings in the book zooms into the kid's scar, then into the body. There were some kind of astronaut robotic kind of humans, great drawing of inner body (muscles etc). It was like an informative book for kids, maybe about anatomy, immune system or healing. I am trying to find out the name of the book. Most of people (mostly geeks or sci-fi fans) aged between 37-45 remembers that they had a book like that, but they couldn't remember name or anything other than these information.

The story is so similar to Fantastic Voyage, but i'm pretty sure this wasn't Fantastic Voyage. This book may be from 80s or even late 70s. One person said it can be one of the Childcraft books, but i don't think so. Another one said Magic School Bus, but that's not the one i am looking. Magic School Bus' drawings are not like the one that i remember. The book that i mentioned has more advanced sci-fi kind of drawings.

I'm going nuts! I've been trying to identify it, but i couldn't find or remember.

It was a picture book, mostly illustrated. Also the drawings were old style detailed drawings, not cartoon style graphic or basic illustrations.

I don't remember your book Theeblog, but I do remember watching a cartoon in health class in about 10th grade with this same idea. Where the blood cells are all part of the military, waging war with the evil infection.

Maybe the cartoon was based on your book? Or your book was the novelization of the cartoon? Any way you can check that?
