@Marisa - I also find that I am more willing to go outside of my typical YA fantasy fiction genre with an audio book vs. physical book.
I prefer an actual book but use kindle if I have to or when I travel. Listen to audio books constantly while I drive as well as read a physical one. Get most of it at the library or I would be in the poor house :)
I can pretty much read anywhere and you'll very rarely find me without a book in my possession. I have a Kindle, but I prefer to read physical copies of a book. There's just something about a physical copy rather than a digital copy. I've never tried an audiobook but if anyone has any suggestions, I'm more than willing to try

I like fantasy mainly, but I'm rather partial to a crime, romance or a true life event story
I recommend The Shadows and The Rose Garden for fantasy. Feel free to look at my shelves on goodreads too (I have added some by genre). I also like true life event stories. Most the books on my shelves are audiobooks, but it seems a few of the true life ones aren't.

(Lauren Ezzo is a particularly good narrator, worth searching her projects)
I have been an avid reader. However, I hardly read now but listen and re-listen to audio books which I find more convenient.
I prefer listening to books. I haven't read a book in a long time. I have a Kindle app, but I rarely read books on Kindle. I also relisten to favorite books.

Harry Potter series
I like to listen to books. Yes the narrator for a book or series can makes or break ones experience with audiobooks. The love for the IN DEATH audio series wouldn't be what it is today were it not for Susan Eriksen's wonderful narration.
Though the Rebus series has had several narrators, and all very good. But with James McPherson's interpretation you see Rebus in a whole different light.
I just listened to the first book in the Shetland Isle series RAVEN BLACK by Ann Cleeves. The story was fine, I just didn't care for the male narrator. He made the men sound older than I think they were.
I like to contemplate a lot. It makes me a slow reader. Often come back to what already read. Some sentences are so beautiful and worth it.
I tried listening to audio books, I really loved The graveyard book by Gaiman, but it simply does not work for me. I have a looot of e-books and quite a lot of physical ones. My preference is to have book I can hold, smell, sleep with just feel it (I know it sounds weird but I am normal I promise!!)
My way is reading the e-book first and if I loved the book I will buy the physical copy. I think you will agree that books are quite expensive at least where I live so I want to make a collection that I know I want to have. :)
Alia wrote: "No, but then I don't much like the scent of old books.Do you read with music?"
Either I do or I don't. When it is a book that I enjoy, I'll play music. But when the book is complicated, I don't so I can concentrate.
I love paperbooks I think they are the best, just holding them and the smell (sound crazy) but I love the smell of old books. I had a kindle for a year (my daughter just brake it recently) and was really comfy for travel I could have more then one book no weight, specially in summer when I went to my mom 6 weeks (almost every day on the beach) and time for loads of books 😀. With the audiobooks I used to listen them before bed my dad put them when I was living with him and it was like no having another choice hahaha after that I had some on the phone for the train travelling it was OK but still I prefer paperbooks. Where I read? Everywhere seriously everywhere don't mind at all the TV or music on the background if I really can't concentrate then I just read later. Love relax with a book in the bath and love reading to my Lil monster.

When I was living in Poland when I was younger my dad had a bath rack (you put it a cross the bath for put the soaps, sponge stuff like that) I always was using this one for put the book like on the table, now you can buy online the proper stuff for books and tablet the wine glass etc. I dont have one then I just put one leg on the side of the bath then I dont slip to the and, I found it easier with the kindle no pages to change just one click 😀
I have to remember make sure my hands are very dry before picking up the book and to keep them dry while relaxing, but then I'm paranoid about dropping the book in the water! The rack sounds like a good idea.

The back was all sticky and gross.. :(
I really don't mind if the book go wet (just a little be) its like living a memory on it, but I keep them a way from my daughter after she put coffe of the Chris Carter full collection. 😱😭😭
I prefer paperback books, although I do love having my Kindle late at night when my boyfriend is trying to sleep so that I don't have to turn on the lights and wake him :) It has always been a dream of mine to have my own library in my home someday!
I read whenever I can, before bed, when I wake up, waiting in line at the grocery store, and etc. I prefer to read from paperback, especially the small ones becausethey fit in my purse better.
However, I often end up reading on my phone because its more convinient, if I want to read another book theres like fifty on the device, and theres great many good stories that are not availble in paperback yet unfortunatley.
usually in a quiet environment if i have a choice.. specifically in my garden when it's sunny out and just lounging and reading :))

I audiobook almost all day every day so I would say yes. I am usually really busy and don't have the time to sit and read. Typically books that are offered in audiobook format take precedence over those that don't (for me).
