Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments Wow, look at you racing along!!!!I see at least one I have not read...Through Every Storm: A Pride and Prejudice Novella

Congratulations on your progress!

message 1955: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments The trail has already been blazed by y'all marathon readers...so the road is fairly smooth for the rest of us. Thanks for the encouragement. I appreciate it.

Through Every Storm is a very different story about Wickham. I didn't want to like it, but I did. It was a journey...more so for Lydia than Wickham. The author was challenged to see if she could write a story about a reformed Wickham and she did. It was a quick read.

164Darcy Comes Undone: Elizabeth's Ruin

Not a really good story. Not even close to cannon and i found the way the charecters acted to be so fundamentally against type it was distracting

message 1984: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments Sheila-do my eyes deceive me or is your total to date really 220??? Wow!!! Seriously impressive!!

message 1985: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments And what Jeanne forgot to mention is that shortly before Christmas, both libraries in Pemberley and Longbourn will be opened and all visitors, irrespective of number of books read, will be received by the families in residence, welcomed and given a guided tour!
Carriages will be made available to transport us all from one home to another and in the case of inclement weather all those wishing it will be accommodated in the West wing of P!!!

message 1988: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments I wanted to assign Caroline Bingley to the nursery but didn't want to subject the babies to her attitude and bad behavior.... the little dears.

message 1989: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments Gosh no,we couldn't do that!! The stables, perhaps??

message 1993: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments Absolutely,Sheila! Mr D has informed me personally that whatever alcoholic beverage your heart desires will be provided. If you have any special dietary requirements, please send them by express, along with any other suggestions for your general comfort and safety....not forgetting any book requests that he may be able to satisfy from that famed bookstore in London that he frequents!

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments Mary... I simply adore you. I am laughing out loud. People are starting to look my way and wonder about my sanity. I just smile at them and keep on typing.

message 1995: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments Punch and tea in the drawing rooms???
(I'm choking,here,as I write,.....yes,in deep indignation!!!)
Jeanne how could you have mistook his direct declaration of his wishes for the comfort of ALL his visitors???

message 1996: by J. W. (new)

message 1998: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 623 comments Back at you my dear...you absolutely slay me. I love it. I am ruined after working with teenagers for so long. I don't know how to conduct myself like a grownup. Mr. Darcy may find me rather vulgar, much in way of... say a Mrs. Philips. Oh dear :-(

message 1999: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments Mary wrote: "Sheila-do my eyes deceive me or is your total to date really 220??? Wow!!! Seriously impressive!!"

Thank you. With retirement it is easier to reach high numbers.

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments I am sure there will be biscuits and cucumber sandwiches amongst the tea tray assortment!
