That is the body-swapping one I just bought. I agree!

I had to giggle b/c Laura mentioned that it's her wink at Disney's Freaky Friday and Amazon posted her book early...on Friday the 13th. Guess they thought a Freaky Friday story just had to go live on a freaky Friday. ;)

I just posted my own review on this latter one today. Long and completely satisfying read.

Yes, Darcy By Any Other Name is long but she posted a lot of excerpts and it sounds oh so intriguing when Darcy and Collins swap bodies = Freaky Friday type story. I can't wait to read that one also.

#110. Darcy By Any Other Name - 5 stars

I started reading this last night around 10 pm-ish and just couldn't stop - got finished a little before dawn. I think the last time that happened to me was with the Harry Potter series. What a fun book! I already posted my review.

Spoiler: prepare yourselves: big box of Kleenex and a baseball bat! Tissues for you all and Lizzy- guess who the bat is for!?!?!

Sheryl Gordon | 6 comments The list of fractured marriage stories is a category with links on the Jane Austen Index.

OH, I have already used a number of tissues...stayed up until 2 am this morning and now am at it again. Bat-hit Elizabeth over the head!/? She has been thru so much but has entrenched herself not to 'fee' again...too much at stake in her mind.

I am not an angst-lover in general, but once in a while I like to indulge in a good cry while I read a heartwrenching one. I look forward to your final thoughts on this one.

message 921: by Ceri (new)

Ceri | 224 comments If 'Creep' refers to the story I'm thinking of, it's a cute story. A modern, where Mr Darcy senior and Mr Bennet are business partners and Will and Lizzy are at loggerheads due to a falling out in their teens.

There are also some vignettes - 'A Series of Creepy Events', I think they're called, but you have to read 'Creep' first.

Very much agree with your statement, but what a painful and slow process to rebuIld the relationship, plus completely believable!

message 923: by Claudine (new)

Claudine DiMuzio / Just Jane 1813 | 224 comments Wait until you read "The Elizabeth Papers;" you can add it to this list too!!

message 924: by Marina (new)

Marina | 15 comments Oh? Is it angsty as well? I just spend good couple of hours crying over The Last Man in the World by Abigail Reynolds. Great story and very well written.

message 925: by Ceri (new)

Ceri | 224 comments I LOVE that one! That and Mr Darcy's Obsession are my all-time favourite JAFF reads

message 926: by Marina (new)

Marina | 15 comments Have you read Strange Bedfellows by Tanya? It has not been completed but only couple of chapters are missing, it is my all time favourite angsty piece of fanfiction

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments Is this a Darcy and Elizabeth tale and is it set in England and/or Regency times?

It is very long in skimming over it.

message 931: by Claudine (new)

Claudine DiMuzio / Just Jane 1813 | 224 comments Marina... Thank you for the recommendation. "The Elizabeth Papers" is filled with delicious angst... I will say no more!

Marina | 15 comments Sheila wrote: "Is this a Darcy and Elizabeth tale and is it set in England and/or Regency times?

Yes, it is set in Regency, England. It has AU component , with Darcy being friends with Elizabeths' brother and while the characters are the same, the story line is different to the original. I read it from time to time to " cleanse my palate" if you like. There is only so much variations on original story one can read and after a while, when i feel i want something different but with Darcy and Lizzy in it, this is one of the stories i turn to.
And while it is long, similar to Woman Scorned it is a great read:)
P.S. Box will do, but yes, HEA:)

Claudine, I am almost scared to read it, after looking at the summary! Is there a happy ending?:)

message 934: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments I have not yet read A Woman Scorned but have it on my list...now which one should I start?

message 935: by Claudine (new)

Claudine DiMuzio / Just Jane 1813 | 224 comments Marina... I wouldn't spoil a thing for anyone... Trust me and read it. If you hate it, which I don't think you will... then you can tell everyone I am a horrible JAFF reading friend! Lol!!

message 936: by Marina (last edited May 20, 2016 05:03PM) (new)

Marina | 15 comments Sheila, Woman Scorned is PIP and the last posted chapter is a major cliffy , so personally i would start with Bedfellows:)

Talia (kneyda) | 217 comments I didn't feel so well today but managed to finish one book, On Oakham Mount: A Pride & Prejudice Variation. I know this was a fan fave here when it first came out a month or so ago and I can heartily agree with everyone. It was marvelous. As stated before by other reviewers, the writing is fantastic and true to Austen. It was such a pleasure to read. My husband surprised me with an autographed hard copy. I look forward to reading it again when I am feeling a bit better. This is one of those JAFF books you want on your shelf to reread again and again. I highly recommend it and can think of no reason why anyone could find fault with it. It was lovely.
