LOL! And it's April, still. How many books will you read through the year?
Chapeau!

message 617: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments Last year I read 382, so I'm actually behind last year's pace. But I only rarely posted reviews so, aside from my rating, I often can't remember the specific plot or what I liked or disliked. This year, I post a detailed review for every book. I know it helps others who actually care what I think about them, but it helps me even more.

message 618: by Debbie (last edited Apr 06, 2016 08:49AM) (new)

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments I set my personal goal for 150. I'll probably be slowing down this summer when it's golf weather, and my son and his wife will give me my first grandchild in the fall so I know THAT will take a lot of my attention off of reading!

message 619: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 1167 comments Mod
I need my reviews to help me remember points about each book, too.

Oh cool! Yes, grandbabies are attention stealers and rightly so. :)

message 620: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments Amen, I have 4 (ages: 3.5, 3, 1 and 11 mos.) And I do babysit often. Debbie, I have read that amount the last several years and since you are past the half way point only three and a half mos. into the year I am sure you will far surpass it. Enjoy the new baby.

"If I knew how much fun grandchildren were, I would have had them first"....not my saying but one I found on a tea towel...LOL

Talia (kneyda) | 217 comments I finished Manners, Merlin, and Meadows this week. It is very sweet and endearing. I think a lot of people here would enjoy it very much.

I am also reading Classics Reimagined, Pride and Prejudice, illustrated. I love this edition. The paper is so thick. Love the margins and the illustrations are plentiful. It is fun to see what will be on the next page.

Just started Kidnapped and LOVE it. :)

That's cool about the illustrations. I love older editions like that. Enjoy Kidnapped!

message 635: by Erika (new)

Erika (eureeka75) | 167 comments Talia, Overhead was great as well!! You must be reading through the ones I recommended first!!!

message 636: by Talia (new)

Talia (kneyda) | 217 comments I read two books yesterday. Darcy vs. Bennet: A Pride and Prejudice Variation was the first one. I loved this book so much. It was terrific. I never want to give anything away so no details here. I only wish that it had ended differently instead of a "cop-out" type ending. I was hoping the opposite would happen but still loved it.

The other book was Netherfield Park Quarantined. Another crazy one from this author but loved it because of the craziness. If you ever need an unexpected plot line and want everyone to die, this author is for you. I am a fan.

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments 81. How to Save a Life - 5 stars
82. Lady Bridget's Diary - 5 stars
83. A Good Memory - 5 stars
84. Love Never Fails: A Pride & Prejudice Variation - 5 stars

Great string of JAFF! They are so different from each other, yet all are really excellent IMO. My reviews for each are posted. Looking forward to reading Darcy vs. Bennet: A Pride and Prejudice Variation later this month.

This is great, Talia and Debbie!

Love seeing you enjoy some good books.

Netherfield Park Quarantined as a title just begs for a crazy plot line. :)

Mr Wickham could play the Telly Savalas role in the sequel.

33. Cassandra - 4 Stars ☆☆☆☆

34. Prevailed On To Marry: A Pride and Prejudice Alternative Story - 1 Star ☆
Overall… juvenile – the writing style, characterizations, dialogue, thought process, etc. Not juvenile as in meant for a younger audience, juvenile in the worst sense. I did not like this novella.

35. Progression Vol. 1: A Continuation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice - 3 Stars ☆☆☆

Yikes, Prevailed looks like it left a nasty taste for you.

Three more closer. :)
