Old Filth question

I love the book, I think all her writing is good. I enjoy the character Old Filth, Failed In London Try Hong Kong.

Best book I have read in long time. It even made me cry and I never cry...not since Gone With The Wind, but then we all cried with that one! I especially like the way the author opened doors of thought without leading you all the way down the road. Your mind could wander and imagine what caused such and such, or why that. To get clarification, read books 2 & 3. I'll be starting Bk 2 as soon as the library gets it in.

It is a wonderful book -- it spans several decades and takes the readers in thoroughly unexpected places, from a beach in Africa to an English country church, and contains a moment of grace-filled, cosmic payback. I'm going to read the second book in the trilogy sometime this year.
