Jame ignored her and walked over to his table, leaning on it heavily. "Im sorry for helping you when you said you didn't want any help from me." He told her, not looking up. He was frustrated with himself for falling through and coming to her aid.

She shook her head, still shaken up from it and ignoring her bleeding side for now, not really realizing it. "I'm glad you did....I....I shouldn't have been so stubborn about that....thank you for getting me out of there."
Jame sighed softly, his anger cooling, and walked over to her again. "No problem." He was about to go grab some food when he noticed the blood on her shirt. "You're hurt!?"
She looked down, just realizing it. "It's from when the other ship attacked... I did't realize ot had started bleeding again..." It was obvious to tell that she was still freaked out over what had almost happened out on deck
Jame walked over and lifted up her shirt, staring at the gash. His eyes widened and he dropped her shirt again, looking around for something, "that needs to be cauterized." He stated simply.
((gtg t class soon))."How?" She asked, looking over at him. He had known her secrets for months. She wasn't worried about him like the others. If he had wanted to use her he'd had plenty of chances.
((Kay))Jame brought over a small dagger, candle, and bandages. "Same way it is always done." He said simply. Placing the candle on the nightstand, he suck the tip of the dagger into the flame and held it there. "Ill try to be as gentle as possible." He promised.
"Alright." She said, taking a breath and trying o prepare herself for it. She'd never Jay this done before, had seen it of course, but never to herself.
Jame pulled the dagger out breifly, before putting it back in the flame. It was almost hot enough. "Find something to bite on." He instructed her. " and please refrain from moving around too much, or ill have to tie you down." He stated simply.
She nodded, pulling her arm farther into her sleeve, balling up the cloth and biting down on that. It was better than nothing at least. She was starting to feel a bit lightheaded again from the blood loss, calmer now that she was in here and safe from the rest of the crew.
Jame pulled the dagger tip red hot out of the flame and moved over to her. Lifting up her shirt gently, he pinched the skin around the wound closed, and brought the dagger tip to the edge, dragging it across the incision.
She bit down harder on the cloth, her eyes closes and letting out a bit of a cry and trying not to flinch away. God that hurt. She wasn't going to complain though.
Jame finished searing the wound closed, and he quickly put the knife on the table. Walking over to his desk, he pulled out the salve and smeared some over the burns to help with the pain and keep away infection. He wrapped up her waist and stepped back again, surveying his work.
She took a moment just to catch her breath before looking back up at him and giving a nod of thanks. "Thank you.....for getting me out of there and for this..." She threw a glance at the door, not sure what she was going to do now.
Jame nodded and walked to his desk, opening the draw subconsciously to finger the key... "Yeah, well compassion isn't a trait I'm proud of." He said simply. He didn't want to look like he was going soft or anything like that... he was supposed to be cold, and ruthless. He couldn't let one girl get in the way of that... right?
"Well...Either way thanks. You didn't have to do anything." She knew she'd have to go out there eventually and face them all. They were in the middle of the ocean. There was no where she could go for now. And....she loved the ship, loved being out at sea but after that....she didn't know what to do.
Jame nodded, "Your welcome." He ran his thumb over the rusty metal key, hanging it around his neck again and tucking it under his shirt. He turned towards her. "The only way the crew is going to keep their hands off you is if they think you're off limits." He told her seriously. They were in the middle of the ocean, and hadn't seen land in a month. He knew some of the men would kill to get near her.
"And how do I make them think that?" She asked, knowing that she couldn't stay hidden, she'd have to go out there at some point. Maybe she could just hide out in the crows nest....she liked it up there and she'd still be helping but away from all the men.
Jame laughed softly. "The only way you'd be off limits, would be if you were already taken." He tried to explain, grinning wryly at her. "Already claimed by someone no one else would dare cross." He smiled and picked up the ship's log, starting to record in it as he talked with her.
She was frowning a bit but nodded after a moment, seeing where he was going. Would the crew fall for it though? And what of they all decided to go against the captain? What then? Well...if it worked she'd be safe. If not.....she didn't want to think about that outcome.
Jame kept writing. He was taking a big risk to help her, and he didn't know why. He could easily just let his men have her, and keep the respect of the crew. Or he could save her, and endanger himself. He hoped his reputation lay deep enough that no one would challenge it.
"Thanks." She told him again, for what seemed like the millionth time. "Thank you for helping me....I didn't deserve it, not after insisting I was fine on my own so many times.....but thank you. I'm glad you didn't listen to me about that."
Jame looked over at her suddenly, smiling a little. "You're welcome." He said gently. He smiled a little, and looked back at his log. He felt strange. He didn't understand it, but he did. He felt... different.
She bit her lip, hesitating a moment before asking. "So what am I supposed to do now?" Now that her secret was out there wasn't much that she could do.....
Jame shrugged. "Stay in here until the hype dies down." He said, leaning his elbows on his knees. "Then convince them that you're mine every time we go outside for a while." he added, thinking for a moment. "Once that gets into their brains, I think they'll leave you alone and you can walk around without worrying about being mobbed."
She sighed, not liking that she'd have to be confined for awhile, but she knew that it was for her safety. "How long do you think that will take? Before I can actually walk around out there?"
Jame shrugged. "It depends on the mood of the crew really. If we have rough seas, then it could take months." He said honestly. "But if it's smooth sailing, then you can probably walk out there in a couple weeks." He scratched his chin a little. "But I highly doubt there'll be smooth sailing where we're going."
"Where are we going?" She asked, not having really bothered with asking before now, knowing that she would find out eventually. Now though she was more curious. "And if the seas will be that rough wouldn't one extra hand on deck help even a little? Being stuck in this room for months pretty much....I don't know how I could stand it."
Jame sighed slowly, smiling a little. "Hopefully you wont have to be in here too long. We're going where no one has gone before. I don't know what is out there, the waters have never been mapped. Who ever did venture out in those waters, never came back." he paused for emphasis. "But if we do survive, we will be well rewarded." He reached into his shirt and subconsciously fingered the key.
Never came back? That didn't sound good.... "Well if no one's ever come how do you know that there is anything good out there?" She questioned. "If it's never been mapped how do you know we'll get anywhere and not just be stuck in the middle of the ocean forever?"
Jame laughed softly. "Because of the old legend." He smiled over at her. "Sure, it might be all just an old wive's tale, but pirates take risks, and usually, it's worth it." He winked at her. "We aren't one to back down from a challenge."
"Well what does the legend say?" she asked, curious, distracted from the thoughts of everything that had happened up on deck. "What are we looking for exactly."
Jame smiled down at her. "What makes you think I'll tell you?" He raised one eyebrow. "It's for me to know, and you to find out." He grinned at her, almost teasing.
She raised an eyebrow at his expression but didn't comment on it. if he didn't want to tell her he wouldn't.
Jame reclined in a nearby chair, twisting his earring between his thumb and finger a little. He smiled over at her. "I don't know much about you." He said slowly. "What's your story?"
Jame sighed. "Ok, where are you from? Where did you grow up? What was your childhood? Shall I continue?" He raised one eyebrow. "I want to know who it is that I am sheltering, beyond the boy/girl sailor. I want to know who you were." He said simply, his sharp eyes focused on hers.
" There's really not that much to tell." She said honestly. "I'm from that town where I joined up, lived there my whole life. Until last winter it was just me and my mom, I never knew my dad, he left before o was born..." She began, bead on her knees as she thought back.
Jame nodded slowly, not interrupting her. When she mention her father, his gaze darkened a little. Typical. He thought to himself. "What of your mother? You just left her to come here?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. He could guess that something had happened, because she had said 'until last winter'.
Adella was silent fir a moment before sighing. "We didn't really have much money. ..so when she got sick we couldn't afford any medicine. She ended up dying....after that I was on my own. A few years before that is when I first cut my hair, started dressing up in men's. clothes because I was more likely t get hired for the better jobs that way. ot wasn't a lot of money, but enough to keep us going."
Jame nodded and sighed softly. "I'm sorry. About your mother, and your rough life." He looked up at her, smiling gently. "I can only imagine what it was like." He looked down at his hands again, lacing his fingers together.
" Thanks." She said. "Life never had been easy for her but she. was used to it. Had thought coming on the ship was the perfect way out of the city.
Jame smiled a bit. "Well you sure got out of the city." He agreed, nodding a little in amusement. "Far far out of the city."
He nodded and smiled, leaning back in his chair. "You never said whether or not you had someone. Someone special outside of your family." He said, not looking over at her. His voice held mild curiosity.
She shook her head. "Had more things to worry about than that. If she had would she be here now? Probably not...
Jame nodded, not sure what he thought of her answer. He was almost a tiny bit glad of that... he had no idea why... He frowned slightly and shook his head. "I understand." He said simply.
"And that's about all their is to tell. Until joining the crew not much else happened. My life has been a fairly uneventful one."
Jame nodded slowly. "Well I guess that's about to change." He yawned slowly. "You should get some rest love. We have a big day tomorrow." He leaned back in his chair, pulling his hat over his face as he tried to go to sleep.
