Adella was trying to help as much as she could to get things back in place now that the wind and waves had calmed down, and was trying not to meet to many people's gazes. Stay calm... She thought to herself. They don't know......

Jame handed the wheel over to Denver again. He walked slowly down the steps and onto the deck. He paused, looking over everyone and the crew went silent. "Disobedience. Who knows what the consequence for that is?"
One older sailor shouts. "The plank!"
Another calls. "Cat o' nine tails!"
"The brigg!"

Adella took a breath, her heart pounding. She didn't say anything to defend herself. What could she say without giving up her secret? If they did choose to send her overboard then she'd speak up. It would be woth it then but otherwise....she'd try to keep her silence anyway.

"Iye, and disobedience is one of the least tollerated crimes aboard this ship!" Jame walked up to stand in front of Dell. He glared down at him. "So what'll it be, boy? Lashes or the plank?"

"I'll take the lashes." She replied, looking up then, and taking a breath to try to prepair herself. This was going to hurt. She knew it...she just hoped she could take it.

Jame nodded. At least the boy wasnt a coward. The plank was the easy way out. He walked to the wall beside him and unhooked a long cat o' nine tails whip. It had nine tails instead of one, making the whipping both quicker, and more painful. He handed the whip to Sam. "You get to do the honors. 20."
Sam nodded. "Pull the back of your shirt over your shoulders boy. And lean against the railing." He instructed.

Adella's hear was pounding but she went and leanedd against the railing, facing away from the rest of the crew, and lifting up the back of her shirt. She could do that much at least. She licked her lips, starring out over the water as sje waiting for the strikes to come.

Jame surveyed the boy's small back, and his gaze narrowed. He didnt say anything, however, and just stood, waiting for it to begin.
Sam sighed and raised the whip above his head, snapping it down on Dell's back.

Jame watched, his arms crossed. "You're going easy on him Sam..." He said, frowning a little.
Sam nodded. "Sorry cap'n." He added a little more force to his strokes, increasing the pace as well.

Sam nodded and lowered the whip, hooking it back up in the wall.
"Back to work!" Jame shouted, and the crew dispersed.
He wrung out his shirt a little, as he walked over to the boy, as he was still soaking wet from the storm. "I don't like to be disobeyed Dell." He said sternly.

He folded his hands behind his back and leaned closer to her, smiling a little. "Gotta reputation to uphold you know."

Jame grabbed his spy glass and scanned the horizon. Sure enough, slightly to the west, sat a small island. "Hard to starboard!" He shouted, and left Denver to the wheel again to watch the island from the prow of the ship.

Jame sighed. They were heading to the island steadily now, but it would take a while to reach there, and he was bored. Deciding to check on the boy, he walked below deck and into the crew's quarters. He spotted the boy in one of the hammocks and walked over. Blood was seeping through the poor kid's shirt, and he looked pale. Jame swore softly, wondering why the kid hadn't asked for help from one of the sailors to bind him. He wouldn't be able to work again tomorrow if he just lay there like that. Jame walked over to a tub and pulled out an extra shirt, ripping it into strips.

He finished ripping the strips of cloth, and searched through the barrels until he found a small tub of medical salve for emergencies. Saving a crew man's life, was always an emergency. The kid would die from blood loss soon if he didn't help out. He walked over to Dell again and pulled over a barrel to sit down on. "Now let me help you."

Without wasting time, he twisted open the cap off the jar of salve and dipped his fingers inside. Pulling out a glob, he gently smeared it over the boy's back and started to work it into his wounds.

Quickly going back to work, he kept rubbing the cream colored gel into the boy's back. He hadn't looked long enough at him when he was taking his shirt off, so he hadn't noticed anything out of the ordinary, yet...

"If I was any other captain I would make you strip and walk the plank. Hope you got eaten quickly so your death was fast." He shook his head.
"But since I lost two of my crew last night, it just so happens that I need you on board." He sighed and bent down by her, starting to wrap the bandages around her again. "You better thank your lucky stars girl, because this is a once in a million situation."

His heart started pounding in anticipation of what he might find when they neared what he was looking for.
"Is your name really Dell by the way? Or did you just make that up?"
