Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame struggled in fury, trying to slice through the net which was quickly ensnaring him further.

Abazar nodded to his men to start dragging the net back to the camp.

message 702: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) The sword was too big for her to maneuver it in the confined space and she wasn't having any luck. like Jame just getting farther tangled.

Roco went forward with the others. everyone grabbing part of the net to pull back to their cAmp.

message 703: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Finding himself motionless, Jame resorted to scowling at any who drew close enough as they were dragged roughly to camp. He had no sense of direction by the time they halted in a circle of huts. Rolling down hills and being dragged through lakes and jungles could be extremely disorienting. The net was lifted and he found him and the rest of the crew surrounded. Before he could get his rubbery legs to work, a rock collided with his temple and the world went black.

message 704: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) Adella had almost lost consciousness a few times on the way there whenever her injured shoulder hit the ground too hard. She somehow managed to stay conscious though. Like Jame she was trying to get to her feet after the net was lifted when another rock collided with her head, she slumped back to the ground, unconscious.

message 705: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Abazar enjoyed himself immensely at the feast that night, laughing and drinking with his men. They had only eaten one of the invaders tonight, but the rest were locked in huts that were guarded extensively. They would be questioned at daybreak.

message 706: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) Adella had been awake when they'd dragged Chase out a few hours before and from all the noise she was hearing outside she could only guess what was happening. "We need to get out of here..." She muttered, not sure how they were going to do it.

message 707: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame woke up a little later than some of the others, groaning as he tried to rub away the pain in his head. He looked around and was relieved to see Adella in the same hut as him. How many of them were missing? He had no idea. "No kidding." He said softly. "Any plans?"

message 708: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) She shook her head, having none. "They took Chase earlier." She told him as she noticed him looking around. "I don't know about all the others." What would the rest crew on the ship do if they didn't come back...

message 709: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame nodded, sighing softly. "We don't have long then." He said in resignation. He chewed his bottom lip. "We should try to get out of here before tomorrow. No telling what will happen then..."

message 710: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) She nodded, hoping they;d be able to find their way though the traps. Looked liked they'd just have to forget about the key that was supposed to be here. It was too dangerous to keep looking for it now.

message 711: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame nodded and huffed, leaning back against the mud wall of the hut. He raked his hands through his hair and closed his eyes.

message 712: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame nodded and huffed, leaning back against the mud wall of the hut. He raked his hands through his hair and closed his eyes.

message 713: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) "Do you have any clue what we can do?" she asked him, managing to move a bit closer. Her shoulder still throbbed but she was mainly blocking that out now. "We have to do something..."

message 714: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame shook his head slowly and gave her a small smile. But it lacked enthusiasm, and it was somewhat distant, as if he had pulled deep inside himself in preparation for what he knew was coming. "We cant." He whispered, his eyes clouding with a certain hopelessness.

message 715: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) "We can't just give up!" She protested. "There has to be a way to get away from them. We can't just let half the crew die here. There has to be a way."

message 716: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame scrunched up his face and shook his head. "I'm sorry. I wish I had a plan for you... but I don't." He said honestly. "I just don't see how we could escape." He heaved a long sigh, breathing out slowly in regret.

message 717: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) "Well I'm not going to just sit here and wait for them to kill us." She said, shooting a glare in his direction. Was he really just going to give up?! She couldn't believe that. There had to be a way out of this. "When they come again we could try attacking them?"

message 718: by Lara (last edited Sep 10, 2014 01:11PM) (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame huffed. "With what? Face knives with our bare hands?" He asked, rolling his eyes. "Sure. Yeah. Good luck." He said, shaking his head. As if on cue, the door to their hut opened and the natives said something unintelligible. Then they pointed at Jame. "You. Come." Jame shot Adella an apologetic glance as he was picked up and dragged out.

message 719: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) Adella was about to reply when the door opened again. This time she got to her feet and tried to rush over to help, tackling one o the natives. whether he was willing to fight or not she was. She was at least going to try anyway.

message 720: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame was dragged out to a pole which his arms were quickly tied around. He was forced to stand and watch as Adella fought the natives. Why was she doing that now? She was going to get herself killed, or strung up like himself with no hope for escape.

message 721: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) She wasn't about to give up. She knew they had to at least try to fight back. If they didn't they would just be killed. If she had to die she wanted to go down fighting. She was trying to get her hands on one of their knives. At least that would give them a little bit of an advantage right?

message 722: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365)

message 723: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame watched in slight interest as she fought them. He knew she did not have any chance, as it was just one unarmed girl against a whole clan of armed warriors, but she was holding out none the less. That is until he felt a sharp prick against his neck. He inhaled sharply and lifted his chin up, trying to lessen the pinch of the knife being held tight to his throat.

message 724: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) ((Can you play some of the ones she's fighting? and should she see this happening to him?))

message 725: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments ((Sure. And yeah, she should probably see, bc they are trying to get her to stop fighting by threatening his life))

message 726: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) She was still trying to get her hands on a knife or something. At the moment she was using her hands and feet, punching, kicking, scratching. Whatever she could. she froze however when she saw it from the corner of her eye. Someone, one of the natives, holding a knife to Jame's throat. Her eyes narrowed, her fists clenched but she stopped fighting for the moment.

message 727: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Natives immediately clamped hands down onto her arms and dragged her beside Jame, tying her to a pole next to him.

Jame breathed in a thankful gulp of air when the knife was removed, and he looked over apologetically at her, trying to communicate that he was sorry for having her captured.

message 728: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) She struggled a bit when they grabbed her but not fully as the knife was still at Jame's throat. She shook her head at his look, not blaming him. She knew there hadn't been a chance of getting away but had to try. "Looks like this is it huh..." She muttered.

message 729: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame looked forwards, at the fire, and the roasting spit, and the bones in the ashes. He didn't even want to think about that. "Maybe. Maybe not." he said softly.

message 730: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) She didn't reply to him, also looking at the same spot and shuttering. Of all the ways she'd ever thought she might die this had never been one of them.

message 731: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame looked back at her, his lips pinched in a thin line. "They'll have to untie us before they put us on that thing." He said softly. "We'll escape then."

message 732: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) "What about the others?" she whispered back. "We can't just leave them here to be killed...eaten."

message 733: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame nodded and sighed softly. "We'll go back and get the rest of the crew. At least if we come in to camp with a bunch of men, catching these guys on surprise, we might have a chance. Then we can free the rest of them."

message 734: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) Reluctantly she nodded. They just had to hope the rest of the crew would be enough. That they could get here without falling into the traps this time. "Alright..."

message 735: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments ((Skip to later that evening?))

message 736: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) ((Yup. You start?))

message 737: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Night was falling over the camp, and most of the imprisoned men were falling asleep. But not the natives. They were tossing wood on the fire and chanting, getting ready for their nighttime dinner.

message 738: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) Adella was getting worried. Her arms were sore from being tied behind her for hours and she wasn't sure how they were going to do this. Even if they got away from the natives how would they avoid all the traps in the dark? And the chanting was freaking her out a bit. If this plan didn't work they'd be eaten and she didn't even want to think about that. Or what if they weren't even given a chance to escape? What if the natives just killed them while they were still tied up? That would be the smart thing to do....She swallowed nervously, glancing over at Jame.

message 739: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame nodded slowly in response to her, and also in encouragement. He could almost feel her nervousness, and he shared it. But they had to try. This was the only way out of it. Two natives moved over to them, knives in hand. Jame's heart started pounding harder and harder. There was a glint of steel, and he braced himself, thinking it was all over. But then the ropes around his wrists went slack and he was pulled roughly towards the fire.

message 740: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) She was both relieved and terrified when she felt her ropes drop as she was jerked towards the fire. It gave them a chance to escape but if they didn't were the natives going to roast them alive?! She started to struggle as they got closer to the fire. Their escape time was now or never.

message 741: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame waited for a moment, before he jerked downwards on the hands that held him, snapping free. He kicked the native back in a second and grabbed his knife, slitting the throat of the one holding Adella. Then he threw her the dead one's knife and nodded. "Run!" He told her, sprinting into the brush himself.

message 742: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) She caught the knife with her good arm (because I just remembered she was stabbed in the shoulder....) and was running after him seconds later. They'd get the others. They'd be back. the natives would probably kill at least one of the others tonight if they didn't catch them but maybe they could save the rest of them. First things first though. Making it to the ship without falling into any of the traps.

message 743: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame steered clear of the forest, instead searching for a stream of some sort that would lead off the island and to the sea. There couldn't be any traps in a stream, right? Luckily Jame splashed into one purely by chance and started sprinting along its banks, sticking close to the shore where there were no trees to hang traps from, and the water would wash away any sand covering traps on the ground.

message 744: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) Adella didn't hear the natives following but couldn't be sure they weren't. She didn't dare look back though, following after Jame. His idea of staying near the water was a good one. How long had they been gone for? After being knocking out for who knows how long she couldn't be sure and just hoped the others were still there. She stayed silent as she followed.

message 745: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame could feel his calves burning, and his breathing grew heavy. How big was this island anyways? He kept pushing himself, forcing his lungs to take deep breaths as he continued. After what seemed like forever, the shore came in sight and Jame almost shouted for joy. He immediately leaped into the water and started swimming for the dark shape a little ways out that was undoubtably his ship.

((Want there to be something in the water?))

message 746: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) ((hmm....I think they deserve a tiny break at the moment ;)))

She dived into the water after him, swimming as fast as she could towards the ship. Her injured shoulder was burning but she pushed that to the back of her mind, ignoring it for now. They were so close. They could do this! She grinned, feeling her confidence rising.

message 747: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments ((ok :) ))

Jame was panting heavily by the time he reached the side of the ship, but that didn't stop him from grabbing hold of the slimy anchor chain and starting to heave himself up on board. He flopped over the deck rail and just lay there, panting.

message 748: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) With her injured arm it took her a bit longer but soon enough she was on deck too. They did it. They'd gotten away. After she caught her breath she looked over at him. "We need to get everyone awake so we can go back after the others." How many of them had the natives killed she wondered...

message 749: by Elizabeth (new)

message 750: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jame nodded weakly, closing his eyes as he tried to regain control of his breathing. "Right." he agreed. Flipping over, he heaved himself to his knees, and then his feet, stumbling over to the bell which he rang, hard.
