SOLVED. Book about a plan by werewolves to blow up the moon [s]

This is something I saw many years ago on a book rack, leafed through but didn't buy.

The book was probably dates from the late 1970's/80's/early 90's and the plot was as in the thread title. A pack of werewolves infiltrates NASA and get themselves aboard a planned Moon flight and when they get there they use explosives to blow up the Moon turning it into a ring around the Earth, thus creating 'Full Moon' conditions over the entire globe.

The cover had (I think) a partially transformed werewolf in front of a space shuttle.

Heh, the amount of explosives you'd need to blow the moon would be ridiculous. Don't even know if you could cram the shuttle full of anti-matter and do it.

And the shuttle can't even make it out of LEO :P

But sounds like a super-fun pulp book :)

That's why I'm trying to find it.

Don't think a shuttle is used to go to the moon.

I think a shuttle would have been on the cover because at the time of publication that would have been the most recognisable US spacecraft.
