Chapter One

Welcome Everyone! I enjoyed rereading even the first chapter of this novel. It reminded me how much I loved it. In this chapter, We are introduced to Katy, Daemon, and her mother. Katy is a book lover like all of us and I love the element that adds to the story though I don't know if that is the same for the rest of you. Some of the conversations she has with her are one's I have encountered myself. I was always drawn into this story by the fact that it still adds an element of contemporary in a fantasy/syfy realm. For that is hard to accomplish without it seeming unneeded, flat, or corny. The addition of katy's father's death wasn't something I think had to be there but added a new dimension to the story and a motive for them to move. We get to see katy's infamous blogging shirt. The interaction between katy and daemon was as hilarious as I remembered if not more , considering I have read them all.I'm trying desperately not to rant or spoil. We can discuss in this thread but I want to leave you with a few questions to contemplate/ discuss.
Do you have someone in your life similar to katy's mother or someone who doesn't understand your book obsession?
Do you think Katy's book obsession added anything to the story?
What do you think her father being death implies or adds? It could be nothing.;]
What do you think of Jla's writing?
What was your first impression of daemon?
Is there any hope of you liking him?
Would you have reacted in these conversations the way katy did?

I'm glad you liked it. There relationship is so hilarious even by like page 2. Same here as far as the fandom. In that respect, katy is very relatable but I don't think we have similar personalities mabye you will. Kitten will always be adorable and funny.;] Just you wait there's more to come.
