I'm up to the middle of ch8. Hard to put this one down! (view spoiler)[ Fascinated to learn more about where these bad guys are coming from, and also the parts about Roanoke Island. Seems like I've heard that story before about all the colonists disappearing, but not sure. (hide spoiler)]

Yes! I know how you feel. I'm almost to ch8. To be honest, I wasn't looking forward to this book which was why I suggested we read it first. I guess the last book was a little too slow for me. I mean, it was good. I just felt like it was a little dry so I wasn't expecting much from this one. Boy was I wrong! I love how this is unfolding, plus I'm cracking up half the time with these towns ppl. Definitely gives me hope again for Mr Keene.
oh wow. this is the same keene wrote The Rising, which is waiting on hold for me at the library.do you think he's a better writer now in A Gathering of Crows?
Yeah, I liked the first one in the series better than that second one, which I agree was a little slow to get to the action - unlike this third one!Alex G, I've read The Rising too and it definately has a lot of action, and a lot of gore! So far, I am liking A Gathering of Crows a little better.
I got caught up in how good the story was and ended up finishing this one tonight! Really enjoyed it all the way through. (view spoiler) it was interesting to read in the author's notes at the end that there are supposed to be at least two more books about Levi.
Yea I had to work all week had to take somebody's hours because a coworker quit so I've had no time off & none to read slmh I read the first chapter & that's it , but I'm glad that the buddy read was fun for you guys I can't wait to get into it it sounds really good, but I'll let you guys know what I think
I figured you were stuck working Adamus. It's a fast read, so I think you'll get through it pretty quick when you finally get the chance.
So glad u liked it Terry! And Adamus, I'm still on ch9 so dont worry bout not catching up. It does go by fast. I've been on a gaming binge lately but it's out of my system for now so back to reading!
Wow! Levis just stole my heart! Ch 9 < spoiler> Loved the confrontation between Levi and Donny about why Levi won't train Randy. Levi is kind of a deep guy. I can appreciate that
it would only make sense for Levi to take Randy under his wing. I was surprised he was so against it.
About the other Levi books. Shouldn't they be out already? I believe he said that in 2009. Any ideas? I'd love to continue his story. This book was definitely better than the last. It went by so quickly and didn't even have a chance to lag. 5 stars for me!So what's next? A Bentley novel? I have like 10 of his books so anyone that is suggested, I prob have.
Wud any of u be interested in reading a quick novella before we decide on bentleys book? It's called The Customer is Always by Stuart Keane.

There is another novella called 'Last of the Albatwitches', but that doesn't look like either of the ones he mentioned in his comment.
Addy wrote: "Wud any of u be interested in reading a quick novella before we decide on bentleys book? It's called The Customer is Always by Stuart Keane."I would read the short story. As for Little's books, I have The Return and The Store.
Maybe Mr. Keene forgot about them. I hope he remembers to finish them. Levi has got fans! (view spoiler) Also, The Store has my vote. I've heard good things about it. As for Stuart Keane's novella, maybe we cud read to the 50% mark today and the other half tomorrow. Not sure how long it is.
50% on Stuart Keane's book should be doable today. I was going to join SK's Firestarter buddy read that is starting on Friday too, but should be able to start The Store anytime. I am thinking that I'm going to go ahead and read that short story Burden, Kansas pretty soon also.
Let me start a novella thread for us and anyone who wants to join. There are a lot of good ones out there I've been meaning to read. I'll join u on burden Kansas. Maybe we cud do that one after The Customer?

Yea I'm only on Chapter 4 but, I'll try to catch up if not could always do another book & hopefully I can actually be involved this time I had to do all the other supervisors hours because he quit out of the blue & the night supervisor is having surgery on his brain so he's gonna be out for like 8 months so I have been working a lot of crazy hours I'll work in the day for a few days from like 10am to 6pm then for 2 or 3 days I work 10 pm until 8 in the am it's really tiring I've been literally just sleeping on all my spare time I haven't read anything! >:/ but I am down to read The Store from Bentley Little if you guys are all for it, but I'll finish this book this week definitely
It's ok Adamus. I bet the payout will be great but it sucks to have to pick up all those extra shifts:( We can start The Store whenever you are ready. Let me know. I've got plenty to read til then.
Really, Adamus, hope your schedule normalizes for you. That sounds crazy hectic. I'm the same as Addy, plenty to read, but can start The Store when you are ready.
Yea it sucks I hardly have time to sleep let alone read, but the money is ok, but I have so many books that I wanna read, but thanks a lot guys hopefully my schedule the next 2 weeks isn't that bad so I can actually read & relax, but tonight I'll check out my schedule & let you guys know
