Yea I know what you mean I wanted to get Survivor too lol but haven't yet but I'll def read Depraved soon probably next book or 2 & let you know what I think. Both of those writers write really hardcore gore stuff.that isn't for everybody but I mean Jack Ketchum has some pretty serious stories that are the same like Weed Species & Strangehold but it's different because all of Jack Ketchum's books could be real that's what makes it even more scarier

Besides that I love how they put Afam back in this second book & we find out what happened to him. I thought that this book was gonna focus on similar things with Lehorns Hollow, but I thought it was going to be a new story like I thought Dark Hallow was more of a stand alone book instead of in the series but I'm glad we find out what happened in the first book with Adam & how it affects this book & I am really liking the storyline with the 13 & all the mythology & some religion it all fits together perfect

Oh wow that's pretty neat I never knew he had a podcast I'm definitely gonna have to Che k that out. Yea Adan is getting a little annoying but you have to realize everything he's been through then on top of all that he has been in a mental institution & drugged up & he probably was so drugged up that he is definitely having mood swings & isn't thinking clearly & just everything that has happened to him all the guilt he feels for people dying his wife getting pregnate with the satyr & then he's pretty much locked up for something e didn't do he probably has a lot of bottled up emotions & anger & I don't know if you guys agree but I feel that maybe after the first book he might have done more with that book then he says or maybe the book or the spells & stuff do something to your mind because he's definitely completely different than how he was but its just a theory but I also can understand him if I went through & seen everything he did I would probably be just as messed up & the same ya know lol

Yea I plan on getting ghoul also Terry & I don't know if there the same but there is a movie coming out called ghoul some people said it was based on his book but I don't know because the movie is about that famous killer that ate people in Russia I forgot his name but they have the trailer out for it check it out when you guys have time & Lmk what you think

& I definitely agree with you Terry Levi seems like a tough character he's gotta be he's in the rest of the series I think. Dark Hallow is the only one he wasn't in, but I can't remember if they said anything about him or his father in there you guys remember?

I just finished it the ending was definitely a twist but in a way you kinda expect it to a extant but I enjoyed it & I like the series a lot so far & can't wait to see how things turn out with Levi

I was able to finish it also. I liked it. Adamus, you are right that the twist at the end was a little predictable, but I thought it definitely fit.

Yea I mean it for but in a way I was confused because (view spoiler)[ Levi was saying that he was the reason his friends died & stuff like that but it was Adam's fault I mean they all were up against it and knew the risks & if they didn't do anything then it would of been there wives and more of those things running around IMO & it's not like they actually read the book & used magic they made up there own powwow so I don't get how he was the reason for bringing the darkness out (hide spoiler)]

Adamus, my guess is (view spoiler)[ Levi held Adam responsible for two things. First was Adam's passing judgment on his wife and killing her. Second, it seemed that Levi was holding Adam responsible for having broken the initial circle of protection that kept Hylinus as a statue and weakened the gate protection enough for Nodens to push through. I don't necessarily remember it that way from the first book, but that seemed to be the implication I was getting. (hide spoiler)]

Yea I can see what you mean Terry i just thought that Hylanius wall was broken before Afam even did anything but I don't know I wonder what's going to happen with Levi in the 3rd book

I agree. I didn't think it was ever very clear from the first book exactly how Hylinus got released, but (view spoiler)[ it certainly seems that Levi believed it was something Adam did. (hide spoiler)]

Finished! Yes, I would have to revisit dark hollow to see exactly how Adam was to blame but at this point, I really didn't mind that he was sacrificed. I kind of figured something bad would happen to him. To be honest, I was kinda giving up on this book as I felt not enough was happening but the end totally redeemed itself. It was predictable but perfectly fitting. Nodens didn't give much of a fight but maybe in book 3 all hell will really break through. Def interested in Levi and Maria and even Ken. Wonder if the latter two will make an appearance. When shall we start?

Sure you can! I used to do that. I would do 2 group reads and 3 or more buddy reads. It was challenging!
