Maybe, but I think most interested in figuring that out belong to the "What's the name of the book" group. Worth a shot, though.

The answer to my question has been found by a Goodreads member named Marissa at the Goodreads SciFi and Fantasy Book Club.!

It's a short story by Isaac Asimov called "Profession".
