This is really cool. I'm approaching this challenge by trying to read outside of my Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre preference as much as possible and to read some books I've wanted to read for awhile as well.

Oh, wait a minute. This is the old list for 2015, not the 2016 list.

This is great! So excited to get started. I came across the 2015 challenge way late in the year. But not this time, here we go 2016!

When I looked at the sheet I had printed out, I finally saw the note at the bottom that said multi-tasking is fine. (Not the only time in my life I missed something but was sure I was right.) I wonder what the record would be for how many different categories a book could cover. For instance, a dystopian novel over 500 pages written in the decade you were born, dealing with religion?
Bea wrote: "I do not have anyone to read to so have decided to read to my dog, Roxie.."
I'm going to read to my dog, too! :-)
I've already updated my nerdy/wonderful excel spreadsheet with the new categories. I am so glad I started tracking all my reading last year. I learned A LOT about my reading habits and once you pay attention to them, you naturally start changing them and branching out.
Stephanie wrote: "Does anyone have any good recommendations for a book "that is by an author from Southeast Asia"? Or one that "identifies as transgender"? Just looking into some titles for next year. Thanks!"
I liked reading this author's YA books + Thanhha Lai who is from VIet Nam
I think I am going to read Becoming Nicole for my transgender book.
SealyBug wrote: "I've already updated my nerdy/wonderful excel spreadsheet with the new categories. I am so glad I started tracking all my reading last year. SealyBug wrote: "I've already updated my nerdy/wonderful excel spreadsheet with the new categories. I am so glad I started tracking all my reading last year. Multiple tabs too. : ) (Yeah, I'm a book geek. ) Agree with you that you do learn a lot about your reading habits, default genres, etc. I find I really want to branch out when I look at my reading pattern/tendencies. That's one of the reasons I'm really looking forward to this Read Harder 2016 challenge. Shake things up a bit. Explore.
I also have a reading log spreadsheet :) it has title, author, gender of author, date started, date finished, no. of pages, genre, format, source (bought/free/gift etc), nationality of author, if the author is a p.o.c (because trying to increase that number) and whether it was a recommendation or a reread. I'm pretty sure I got the template from a Book Riot thread, actually...Edit to add: yeah, it's based on this one:

Oh, I am a little under-enthused now that I have seen it. Read out loud to someone, the comic and a middle grade book are merely exercises, but I can make good with the rest. Put my printer is out of ink!!
This year I am doing this challenge. Last year I did the Goodreads Challenge now I am doing a different one.
Nelly wrote: "SealyBug wrote: "I've already updated my nerdy/wonderful excel spreadsheet with the new categories. I am so glad I started tracking all my reading last year. I noticed a LOT more library books this year!

Most of the books I read come from the library in some form - hardcopy, ebook, audio book. Saved hundreds of dollars this year alone.

That's a great idea Elle! I will have to check on that. My husband will be so pleased. ;-)My family has just started giving me amazon gift cards for Christmas to support my book habit.
Woohoo! Very happy to have landed on this, and found the list for 2016! I only read about the 2015 Challenge a couple of weeks ago, so am excited to join in for 2016! :)
I'm assuming this ISN'T going to be the thread where we keep track. I know it's only January 2, but I'm itching to get my list in and get started! =)

Brilliant! Thanks Michelle :)
Will there be bookshelves set up for each task this year? I found those very helpful last year. Thanks!

Thanks!!!
The bookshelves need some attention. Some of the 2016 tasks are there, and some aren't, and some include "2016" in the shelf name and some don't.

Thanks! Already on my way. Shall we just continue to add books to the 2015 bookshelf? Or, is there a 2016 and I've just missed it?
