C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 367 comments I know what you mean. I had a close friend have a wedding in another state plus my oldest bro got married a couple of years ago. My how time flies by...

message 3: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 35 comments So true!! But, I still feel like an immature, high school kid that has no business being in charge of her own life!! lol It's just very weird how fast time goes before you know it.

message 4: by C. J. (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 367 comments I have a huge variety concerning my to-be-read list. I have on it "The Magical Worlds of Narnia" by David Colbert, Below by Ryan Lockwood (about a sea creature), and The Shunning by Beverly Lewis. Again I have a big variety. lol.

message 5: by C. J. (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 367 comments I feel I am a multiple book reader not really by choice. haha. It just happens that way. I either will choose another book if I am taking too long on one or just because the opportunity happened.

message 6: by Isobel (new)

Isobel Atkins I'm fairly new to goodreads and been over enthusiastic in joining groups so I have heaps of books I need to read. But I have plenty of time to read as I spend most of my time feeding my voracious baby. So I'm on the couch most of the time. Baby in one arm, book in another. Not much time for housework though which I find terribly disappointing.

message 7: by Isobel (new)

Isobel Atkins She's 4 months. I also have an older boy. When he was 1 I didn't get much time to read either. Working 6 days and a toddler. You must be exhausted.

message 8: by Malcolm (new)

Malcolm Noble | 0 comments Hey! What about this? I have a day off tomorrow (Weds) First one this year! My daughter has agreed to look after my bookshop for the day while Dad ... well, while Dad does all the things Mum thinks he should do on his day off!!

Sunshine in the garden . For some reason, I read a book about publishing in 1500 !! Good lord, why?

message 11: by C. J. (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 367 comments Wow. I had a little funny thing happen when I went to the library and asked for the book. The librarian was funny and laughed with me about it. I guess I'm glad I didn't phrase it, "Where is the Body in the Library?" Haha!

message 12: by Mark (new)

Mark (markvanvollenhoven) | 28 comments Just got my new Jo Nesbo book and Connilly Haller novel, so I guess mt weekend is planned.

I will, cheers.

My copy of N or M is still ready to be read though. It is a fairly old copy as well as fifties old.

Malcolm Noble | 0 comments Just a quick mention that my latest podcast features Agatha Christie. It is 18 minutes long, I'm afraid, but that is because it's detailed. You almost get a free cup of coffee (but not quite)

message 22: by Malcolm (new)

Malcolm Noble | 0 comments And now I have uploaded the second chat. This time it's books about Agatha and archaeology. All comments welcome.

Malcolm Noble | 0 comments While I am sitting here, waiting to hear when I am a great-grandad (in the next two hours is the latest guess) I thought I'd would shamelessly mention that I have featured Monogram Murders on my internet radio show on Sunday at 9pm (UK time) on crosscountiesradio.com Click on Channel Two. What ... was that the phone .... no, don't be so jumpy

It's certainly a classic but I would have enjoyed the book more if the police had turned up when there was one left and questioned and investigated.

Is that about the author making a strange public advertisement and her shame in what it resulted in?

I saw on PBS them talk about the writer and I felt bad she experienced deep embarrassment to the point she never emotionally recovered from it in her career as far as her journal posts that were found stated.

Her motive and awareness will always be debated. Whatever was in her mind, I don't think she realised what the public interest would be. If you listen to the talk, CJ,let me know what you think of it,

Sounds great. I am sure you will do well.

I discussed with my neighbor's family and think with us I will make a few dishes, they will make some at their house and we will take ours over to theirs and celebrate it there! We have done that once for a different event but this is the first time I will be cooking a few dishes. I think it will work out wonderful and if my food stinks at least I will spend time with friends that have become like family.

Tiny update if anyone wants to know, Thanksgiving dinner went well. Hope everybody else had a great time. I cooked the turkey at my house and it almost became a disaster but my dad had faith it wasn't destroyed and was great!

We then went over the neighbors for dessert. How was anyone's Thanksgiving? Did people travel to see family?

message 31: by Roy (new)

Roy Dimond My name is Roy Dimond and I wrote, Silence and Circumstance a novel about the 11 days that Agatha Christie went missing.

Here is a fascinating article about Agatha for any fans... nothing to do with my book just info that I thought I would share...

Brooklyn Tayla (bookishbrooklyn) | 121 comments Awesome , enjoy the book :)

I myself am hoping to add some more to by Agatha Christie collection. I've got about 55 of her paperback novels. I've not read a fair few of them yet because I find I re read those I've already read first! But I'll be starting a binge read of her books soon so all good :)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 367 comments Oh to tell everyone a little thing I was up to, I have been reading a book called "Pines" by Blake Crouch. It has recently been adapted into a tv series called Wayward Pines.

Just felt like noting because it was significant to the reading I got to a point last night that was pretty frightening! The book is kind of like a mystery about a town without giving too much away. It captures feelings of isolation and fear really well, especially during that moment that I had read!

message 37: by Brooklyn (new)

Brooklyn Tayla (bookishbrooklyn) | 121 comments Heh, I know what you mean, Lauren. I get scared sometimes watching Doctor Who!

;)

I, myself have finished "The Thirteen Problems" & I'm thinking my next Christie read will be "Endless Night." I've so been looking forward to it. Though I'll finish "Tales of Trenzalore," first!

message 38: by Malcolm (new)

Malcolm Noble | 0 comments Waiting on a garden bench while my daughter completed an all day (ten hours!) hospital appointment, I read Sittaford Mystery from cover to cover in the sunshine, an excellent read and much better than the TV adaptation. Very Dartmoorish!

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 367 comments I recently have been playing a game online called Akinator (people have been making the game well-known on Youtube) where an in-game genie asks you questions to guess what you are thinking of. It has been impressive as it's guessed most fictional characters from books well (even ones I didn't think it would know!).

message 44: by Brooklyn (new)
