Well, I've taken a break from writing my novel, because I needed to write a piece of short fiction for my Creative Writing class. I thumbed through my dream journal and wrote a dark fantasy short story. The feedback came in two days ago. Most everybody loved it! :D I already worked hard on it, but now that I've got all these new ideas to improve it, I'm seriously considering publication.
(BTW, because I took a break from my novel, I'm thinking certain parts of it may need a serious re-write. I cringe for my future self.)

Hey, all! I'm sorry I haven't posted/commented much on here for a while. But, I've been watching the progress all of you have been making, and it's great!I have a bit of a sad announcement. I've been doing a lot of self reflection, as well as received feedback from an awesome Beta Reader, and I'll be taking a hiatus from my novel.
I'm not giving up on it, but it needs some serious work and is only half-finished. What can you expect from something I started in Junior year in High School?
I'll be focusing, instead, on developing my skills and building a reputation as a writer. I'll be spending time writing and (hopefully) selling short stories and poems to magazines. When I feel ready, I'll pick my novel up again, fix what's already been written, and finish it with a brand new skillset.
Wish me luck everyone! (BTW, if anyone would like to Beta Read my short stories before I send them out, please let me know)
