Gabi Maldonado On page 106, Twobit says, "Hey Ponyboy' he cried gleefully" Although two bit was just saying "hey" S.E. Hinton made his tone of the dialogue change. I definitely think that dialogue has tone and it is a big part of it's importance to the story.

Alec Levi I agree. The word that changed how the reader thinks was the word 'cries'. That makes someone say it with lots of emotion.
