I found it by typing in the words clean reads into the find groups space. I got lucky and found this group. Thanks for starting it. I posted my first book into the book list.
Hi, I found you on the Internet by searching for "clean reads." I just resigned from a Facebook authors re-tweeting group because I wouldn't send suggestive or graphic messages. My book is a clean read, and I'm having trouble finding an audience. I'm not trying to advertise. I'm a Goodreads author and if anyone's interested they can look me and my book up. I'm just glad to know there are readers out there who like their books PG-rated.
Hi, I just found this thread on a google search. Happy to find it, although I don't see many action-adventure books here. Hard to find a good thriller that is also clean.

I'm the author of The Professor Bradshaw Mystery series, and recently at signings, I've been hearing from readers that they were delighted to have discovered a series that's "clean," with no sex, strong language, or graphic violence. I'm rather a fan of the detective fiction written decades ago, when the focus was on story, detection, and character. I write in that tradition. I've gotten emails from readers who loved the books and are so pleased they can safely pass them on to friends, grandparents, young adult children.I began to wonder if other readers were searching for "clean" books, and so I searched Goodreads and found this group!
I'm looking forward to seeing the books that are recommended so I can pass those titles on to readers. And I do hope some of you enjoy my Professor Bradshaw series. There are now two titles, A SPARK OF DEATH and FATAL INDUCTION. I'm writing the third, and plan many more!A Spark of Death: The First Professor Bradshaw MysteryFatal Induction: A Professor Bradshaw Mystery
I was reading on a friends page and saw this group. I get so frustrated reading books that sound descent then are full of trash. Many times i like the story by the time I see the bad word and continue , but in anger. I knew I had to join.
Actually, I was looking through Groups searching for any 'clean' groups. Had no idea it would be this easy...:)
My husband actually found the clean romance books for me! I recently had my first novel published, A Secret Fire, a western clean romance, but I didn't know where to start getting it out there. My husband found Goodreads and told me all about how many books were on here. And he was especially excited about the clean romance groups he found on here! It's exciting how so many people love clean romances, and I can't wait to check out all these books!
I found the group because I am the author of clean teen novels. I feel there is a need for fun reads for young teens and sophisticated pre-teens. I'm really enjoying the group. For anyone interested in clean novels for teen girls, my latest book is By the Seat of Her Pants. It is the second in the Betsy Butters Books series. In this novel, Betsy travels to Paris, France, and gets her first kiss. Thanks, again for a great resource. Jenifer Rubloff
Found this team by a recommendation by Crystal a member of the Good Books for Picky Teenagers Team... :)

Hi all! I found this wonderful group through http://www.cleanromancereviews.com Like others before have mentioned, I struggled to find a home as an author. When I decided I wanted to write romance novels, I wanted to be the kind of author my daughter would be proud of; the kind she would be comfortable saying, 'yes! My mom wrote that!' It's been a relief to find there are still a few of us out there that enjoy life in the PG world!
I noticed it on a friends page. I'm LDS too and hate trying to figure out what I can and can't read. I always tend to buy books from the Church bookshops as I know I won't find anything unclean.
My 3 daughters, ages 13/11/10 just got nook simple touches for christmas.. i want to find plenty of good books for them.. but am somewhat protective as a parent.. hense the simple touch instead of a tablet of some sort
I read one of Joys reviews and followed it here with more digging. I like what I've seen and will refer back to this as I am a librarian at a Midwest conservative Christian HS. Thanks for all of the helpful comments you share with others.
i found this group, through a search on Google and it came up, and i knew i had to join, because. one

Hello everyone. I'm glad to have found the group! I have written a memoir and was searching Goodreads for various groups that might be interested in my genre. I've written a story that encompasses a unique journey. I'm Jewish, my grandparents were Russian Jews who immigrated to Argentina during the Russian revolution. My parents immigrated to the United States fleeing a Peronista government and raging Anti-Semitism. This is an easy read, for all that doom and gloom! Easy and clean. I wrote it for my kids and hopefully, their kids! No sex and no violence, although I got myself into a few scary situations. I met my husband on one of my many trips back to Argentina. We met at a youth social through my cousin's synagogue. My book tells the tale of our courtship, but again, it is soooooo squeaky clean, you could eat off it :-) This is a story about a girl on a journey, how she finds a place for herself and comes to terms with her heritage and culture. I hope you take a look at it. ~ Mirta

They may be interested in supplementing their social studies with stories like yours.

I found the group through a Google search. I'm already on Goodreads, so I figured I might as well join.I'm an author publishing my first book within a few months. It's a YA fantasy novella titled Violet Skies, the first in a series of the same name. I'd like to think it qualifies as "clean adventure", as they're calling it now. There is some mention of sex, but it's never explicit or divorced from its consequences. There's violence, but it's always either done by the villains or only to stop them. There's some profanity, but not much and it's pretty mild by modern standards. As movies, the first book I think would be PG and the second would be PG-13, but the second is easily the darkest of the series.
I don't really have a problem with gritty books in and of themselves. I love George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire. But I wouldn't give Game of Thrones to a 12 year old. And that's where my problem is. Too much of the YA genre these days just isn't appropriate for the younger end of the audience. There's too much explicit sex, gratuitous violence, and rampant profanity. There is a series now in which the main character is literally an assassin. No offense to the author, but I just don't think an assassin is an appropriate hero for a 12 year old. In contrast, the main character of Violet Skies is a healer who must learn to fight only to defend herself.
I go into more detail on my blog: EdwardLCote.blogspot.com
Since others have mentioned denominations: I am an Orthodox Christian, the Eastern half of the Great Schism.
Thanks.
I have been reading a lot more over this summer and after coming across some books that caught me off guard with their descriptions of sexual acts, I decided it was time to search for a clean reads group here on goodreads. And my search turned up this lovely group :)
Love the idea of "clean reads"Found the group by taking a shot - searched "clean reads"!
So Blessed!
I asked the librarian if she knew any authors who were intelligent enough to write a book without using profanity. She took me to this site and I immediately joined.
Hey everyone!! My name is Rachael and I am also an LDS mom from Idaho! I found a book that was a top seller in 2011 and everytime I tried to get it from the Library there were literally HUNDREDS waiting to read it. Well finally one of my friends said that she had it and I could borrow it. The book was called "Gone Girl" and it was awful!! There was a lot of f bombs in it and a lot of "descriptive" sex parts and by the time is starting being that way I was so invested in the book I just a wanted to know how it ended. Not sure if any of you have read it but I wasn't that impressed! A different friend lent me a book recently called "water for elephants" live never seen the movie but after talking to people who have read it I found out there is sex and animal abuse as well as human abuse in it, so I never even started it. So I googled "clean reads" and this group popped up!! I'm really excited to be part of it and hear yay or nay on books BEFORE I start reading them!
I found this by googling "Clean Authors" in an attempt to locate the website "CleanAuthors.com" one of whose clean authors I am. ;-) Sometimes it's just easier to google it than type it in the address box, and that's how I found this thread!I have now joined, and look forward to taking a look around on here! I've been on Goodreads for some time now, but haven't felt very "at home" with most of the discussion groups. I've already enjoyed what I've seen here, and anticipate learning more when I take the time!
Thanks for starting this!

Welcome, E. Any chance your books will someday be available in other venues for those of us who do not own kindles?
Hi, I'm Sandy and I came across the Clean Reads Group by browsing on Goodread. Nice to have a place to go to find "readable" literature....especially when looking for modern day authors. Thanks for the forming of and the input in this group;)
I found it linked on another discussion. As an afterthought, this group isn't for my preferences--it's for my sister and classmates, what they can read. Is there anyone else who uses it like that?
Lucia,I don't know if there is or not, but it's certainly a legitimate use of the discussion group. Welcome.
This group was recommended to our Clean Indie Reads FB group. It's nice to join people who are trying to promote books without graphic violence, explicit sex, and mild language. Check out our group at http://cleanindiereads.blogspot.com/
I forgot to mention that the group is having a fall sale until Sept 25. All books listed are Free or 99 Cents. Check it out. http://rebekahlynbooks.com/book-sale
I found this as I was looking for a group of readers that would enjoy my book. I googled "clean reads."Thanks for the opportunity. It's a novelette, but it's a good read with action, suspense, and romance.
Hi, I was browsing book reviews and found my way to this group. Wonderful to see so many fans of clean books, all sharing ideas (nicely) and recommending books (politely). The world needs more groups like this one.
Hi! I found this group through a Google search using the keywords "good clean books for adults". It was one of the first websites listed.
I am the same religion and denomination as Tracy the founder/one of the moderators of this group so through the six degrees of seperation theory some of my friends who are friends of others so forth and so forth I found about this group. So happy to have found this group and its resources.
I found the group by following a link on my author page. I write clean mystery adventure stories for 8-12 year olds…no magic or fantasy, just quick wits to solve problems.
I found your group while looking for one that loved to read and didn't like reading profanity and a lot of smut (am still editing my book-to-read as a result)...and... here I am. Thanks for starting this group. I hate having to stop reading/listening to a book because my senses are assaulted. Also, not many of my acquaintances thru church like to read as much as I do nor do they understand my need for cuddling up a good book on a cold/rainy/sunny/breezy/uneventful day.
I keep my eye out for such groups.I love to read an eclectic choice of genres; but I do not like graphic descriptions of sex or violence.
I prefer books and movies in which the girl and guy kiss passionately; and then the author or camera moves on to another scene.
I know what is going to probably happen next; so I don't need someone to present every intimate detail.
