Hello! My name is Barbara and I'm a newbie to this group! I have started the first book club at my school and I am in dire need of new books to read - and I want to make sure to include lgbtqa books because many of my kids (members of the club) are queer like me! I would love to have recommendations on books!

I would highly recommend Down to the Bone.
A warm welcome to you Barbara! Hope you enjoy the group - let us know which books your book club reads and what they think of them if you can. I'd love to hear what they thought! Hope it's ok - I moved this thread to the 'Introduce Yourself' folder. :)Another good thread to check is the 'Which GLBT books do you want to re-read?' thread. You'll have to screen for age appropriateness though because there's a wide range of books discussed.

One idea: I haven't read it myself, but I've heard many good things about Tell the Wolves I'm Home. It was one of our group reads a while ago; so you can scroll back through the group read threads and get more info.
