Elinor Roderick | 3 comments I'm looking for the title of a story/ebook I read a few years ago. It involved a military shifter unit. The alpha male is an NCO (maybe a Sergeant Major)and the female is an officer (LT or Captain). The story takes place in the Balkans (perhaps Serbia or Bosnia) and she is briefly captured. The characters are mentioned in another story, so it is part of a series.

The Mating for the first title in the series that Heidi suggested. Not having read it, all I can go by is the brief description and a review, but it doesn't seem to match the book that Elinor is looking for.

Rinou | 44 comments The books Elinor is looking for have nothing to do with the Nikki Charles' books. No military in the Lycan series.

Heidi | 13 comments yeah Idk if that's it. it was the first thing that came to my mind. Her books are perma free on Amazon. So you could check it out and if not it didn't cost anything.... Good luck. I hate not remembering titles of books :)

BTW Elinor, there is a group here on GR that is specifically devoted to helping people find forgotten book titles. https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...

Although I can't help thinking that WE should be able to help you with this one. And the fact that so far, no one has, well, sigh. . . (And it does sound interesting, so I might be adding it to the tbr mountain range that sprawls on my Kindle, Nook and dead tree. . .)

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) | 538 comments There are aspects that remind me of:

Awaken Awaken by Garth Reasby

There are 'shifters', there is both male & female military, and at least part of it is 'overseas' and middle east and what-not. Intereting book, surprised me!

I read the Lycan series, that's why I'm sure it's not what the OP's looking for. But it's worth reading all the same.

Julianne | 3 comments Oh this is frustrating. It sounds really familiar and I'm sure I've read about a similar sounding series in a group somewhere a while ago...I'm gonna have to do some digging tomorrow.

Elinor Roderick | 3 comments It is really frustrating! I've looked through my Kindle and iBooks libraries with no luck. I may have had it on Stanza, but I've lost access to that for the most part. I don't think it was part of a compilation, but I could be wrong. There was most definitely another story that mentioned the characters. I did post it the other groups but haven't gotten a single hit. A reference to the Balkans made me remember the story, since the location is unusual!

I will try Awaken, it sounds interesting.

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) | 538 comments It even has mutant sharks (just no laser beams on their head)
