Vincenzo Spiniello I'm going to start talking about Dialogue. Dialogue is when a character says something important in the book to keep the story going. An example of dialogue in this book is when the main character Ponyboy yells to his fights with Darry. If Ponyboy wouldn't have done that this story wouldn't be as important if Ponyboy didn't fight back when Darry was yelling at him. Ponyboy yells back and makes it dialogue.

Vincenzo Spiniello I like how you stated how Ponyboy makes this book dialogue.

Jordan I agree with you on how dialauge is important. Another example of dialauge in the Outsiders is when Ponyboy asks Cherry if she wants to see Johnny. This is an important conversation because it shows that Cherry is not always nice, but she can get mad about things and holds grudges

Vincenzo Spiniello I totally agree that Cherry is not always nice. In the book Cherry is usually nice to a lot of people. Unless someone is bothering her. Then she got really nasty. I liked how you said that this was an important conversation.

David Hay I agree with you too Jordan but I think she gets nasty because somethings trigger her. For example; alcohol and drunks. Every time in the book she sees people drunk or with alcohol, she seems to get enraged almost instantly. Another example; fights. When she sees a fight start or an in progress fight, she is always mad and storms away from the fight.

David Hay I agree with Tyler

Tyler Griff I agree too, also when Dally is making fun of her, she starts yelling at him, and she throws her coke at him, this also shows her anger

Jordan I see your point now david, she also gets enraged when someone talks about bob and johnny because she is going through the stages of grief.

Jordan She gets enraged about johnny because she is mad at him for killing bob.

Jordan She becomes enraged about bob because he was always drunk and fighting with someone.

Tyler Griff Even though she was yelling at Bob that she doesn't want to see him when he's drunk, she still forgave him, but she forgave him after he died and she said that he was a nice person, which shows that she is now leaving grief.

Tyler Griff Another part of the story where I think that dialogue is important is when Ponyboy and Darry argue. This is important because it shows what their relationship is like, and it is also a foil for each of their relationships with Soda, because both Darry and Ponyboy get along great with Soda. But when Ponyboy and Darry's relationship isn't nearly as good.
