Leigh - Hi there! Yay you unlurked. Hope you'll stay in that mode for a longer time? :D
Alexa - huuu let's cross our fingers!

#TFGat4
First in our month-long activity is the use of our anniversary hash tag. Again, if you have social media accounts, please use this hash tag #TFGat4 when you post anything that is related to TFG, anything bookish, or anything related to reading for this month. Pictures, tweets, Facebook updates -- we'll compile all posts and put it in one central blog/tumblr/stream as the month goes on. :D
If you have no social media account that allows hash tags, then don't worry - you can "tag" your posts here on Goodreads and we'll find a way to collect it, and then we'll include it in the #TFGat4 collection. :D
Please note that whatever you tag will be added to the collection, so if you don't want it for public consumption (by this, I mean everyone here), don't use the tag. :)

Do you still remember how you read before you joined TFG?
Is your TBR pile longer before or after TFG happened?
Still remember your "introduce yourself" entry? (view spoiler) Can you remember the moment you wrote it? Or the feeling of finally unlurking and adding a comment to any of the threads? Or the first time you said yes to an event and finally attending a meet up?
Come on, share! #TFGat4

My TBR pile is from nonexistent to one whole shelf. I was once traumatized in buying sale books, it turned out to be one of my worst reads but after TFG, I get to learn about good authors, knew how to pick books accdg to notable awards like Pulitzer, Man booker or Newberry and yes, I am guilty of buy ing books people recommend here in TFG or if that book is given 4/5 stars from the members.
I remembered lurking for the longest time and having this urge to comment because I was reading this certain thread and was laughing for the last 30minutes. so I did and the rest is history!
Gwaxa: musta na social life mo ngayon? Yoohoo, Meliza...
Atty Monique: suuper nostalgic!
Mabelle: hope to see you this coming F2f!

Do you still remember how you read before you joined TFG?
Yes. Pre-Goodreads and pre-TFG, I was a book snob because for me the only good reads are crime/thriller stories (i.e. John Grisham, John Sanford, Dean Koontz) and shy away from female authors. Chick lit? No, thanks. YA? Please, so juvenile. Romance? DUH. But that was then. Heh. Snob. Heh.
Is your TBR pile longer before or after TFG happened?
LONGEERRRRRRRRRR. And I'd like to say more diverse. And discriminate.

I didn't remember introducing my self in TFG. Heehee. Can I say I was one of the "oldest" members of this group? :D
I joined TFG when it has more or less a hundred members with only a handful who were active. Even the moderator/creator then (until now) wasn't active. I was bored at work, I had no lovelife and social life (hello, GWAXA!), I was new at Goodreads which I found very fascinating because hey, a virtual library!
I checked my comment history and urgh. Ang korni ng mga posts ko hahaha! I really was awkward even in cyberspace. Heh.
Or the first time you said yes to an event and finally attending a meet up?
Well, my first meet-up was different. I wasn't invited to it. If my memory is correct, I think I informed someone in the group (was it Tina?) that I'd be in Manila and then it happened that it's also TFG's Anniversary so the anniversary meet-up was planned, I attended, and it was my first "eyeball" ever haha. :D
Just like Monique, I also wrote a blog post of my first TFG meet-up HERE.

Edit: Love life din pala, wala. Haha.

Do you still remember how you read before you joined TFG?
Before TFG, I mostly read crime/ thriller fiction; a bit of YA, here and there; no Sci-fi; and no ChicLit.
Is your TBR pile longer before or after TFG happened?
My Mt. TBR is definitely higher and broader now that I am a TFG diehard fan.

I created my Goodreads account back in early 2009, almost 2 years after my Shelfari acct. I used to have another group, TNBBC, where Jzhun and I first met. It was Jzhun who invited me to join TFG back in May 2009. Unfortunately, there was this author who kept sending PM to everyone (don't know if the old members still remember him), trying to pimp his books. My virtual self was so annoyed I deleted the old account and created a new one in December 2009.
I try to comment, but weeks and months will pass after the last one. Here's a sample of my comment history:

Or the first time you said yes to an event and finally attending a meet up?
The first time I did said yes to a meet up was in December 18,2010; TechnoHub, Diliman; Christmas Party. No regrets!

HAPPY 4th ANNIVERSARY TFG! You is Awesome!

It's my book appreciation week! So let us flood all our social media with our books
#1: post a picture of your TBR pile (Alona, beat us to this, but it would be fun to see each other's piles of book).
And then some interaction, instead of just liking, we should comment on why a certain book is still in the pile, ergo not yet read. Lest of saying we are pushing that certain book to be the next read of the member who posted his/her TBR pile.
#2: we love traveling. And books are the best travel buddies. So, post a picture of your favorite or most memorable F2F book (need not be a selfie with your book) in a certain place other than your house.
For interaction, comment anything about the book or any memory you remember about the F2f event.
And guys, don't forget your hashtag, #TFGat4

Aaaand okay back to work. :D

F2F is tomorrow! And for our post-F2F activity, please don't forget the following:
1. Wear comfortable clothes! It's summer, so it will be hot/humid - bring extra shirts if you need to, and wear comfortable shoes, too. BECAUSE YES, THERE WILL BE RUNNING (or at least, jogging. Or speed walking. Basta, there will be physical activities. :D).
*** You may bring water, too in case you're get thirsty easily.
2. Bring a camera. Or a camera phone. This is vital for our activity. :D And prepare your sunniest smiles, too! :)
3. If you will catch up after the discussion proper, please let me or Ranee know (PM for numbers if you don't have it yet!), so we know if we'll expect you for the activity.
AAAAND THAT'S IT. Remember what Ranee said in the invite: get your competitive feels ready. :D Hihi. See you tomorrow! :)

Here are friendly commuter guides
1. Edsa Q.Ave (kunwari nag mrt ka) pagbaba mo ng tren, may mga jeep going to Philcoa/Fairview/ UP sa Q.ave side.
sa Philcoa ang baba mo. 8pesos ang pamasahe.
Landmarks: madadaanan mo ang QC circle. Magri-right ang jeep to commonwealth avenue. Dapat on the lookout ka na for mercury.
Be on the lookout for
Kamay Kainan at puregold supermarket.
Diretso to V. luna extension.
