why did Margo had to leave?

At the end, I have this feeling that John Green forced the point of Margo "having to" leave way too much.
I understand how she felt about the people she had in Orlando seeing her for something different than she was, I understand she felt empty, because she had and was seen as this adventure loving perfect girl; and I understand how she felt about Orlando as a city where everything is pretty fake. But I don't understand why she has to leave to finally be herself. Only that she couldn't bear anymore not being taken for what she was but only for the idea people had of her?
I even fail to really formulate my thoughts.
What did you understand was the reason she had to leave?

I guess her reason is that people take her for something she isn't, or doesn't believe to be.
The crux there seems to be that she had gotten so used to play to everyones wishes that she wouldn't be able to see her true self anymore than they could if she stayed there.

she just had to....it was something what she naturally was...doing things adventurously and being spontaneous and there was a part of her which craved different, unusual things
