Ali Well, practically everything that Peeta does is his actions.

message 52: by Ali (new) - rated it 4 stars

Ali I think that Peeta says things that show he is nice, but he doesn't always do nice things in Mockingjay

Christa Farris Peeta is just really nice overall, but in Mockingjay, he gets hijacked so that changes his actions and dialgue a lot. It's also a conflict because deep down he really does love Katniss, but he can't overpower the tracker jacker venom that alters his true self

Ali For example, through dialogue we see that Gale isn't always that nice, and his actions aren't always that nice. Readers know that everything mean that Gale is doing is to protect his and family and Katniss and her family.

Ali That's true, but at parts of the book, Peeta's true self is revealed, but yes, he can't control when he is being bad because of the venom. That's why we can't see how nice Peeta is through his actions in this book.

Christa Farris In mockingjay, Gale is more protecting himself rather than Katniss' family and his family because he's so obsessed with the rebellion that he doesn't think of the innocent people he is killing (ex: Prim). By indirectly killing Prim, he isn't thinking about saving Katniss' family anymore

Christa Farris which other characters should we talk about? maybe prim?

Sophia.Mangone ok

message 59: by Sophia.Mangone (new)

Sophia.Mangone i dont think she was a very big part in this book do you agree?

Christa Farris I think Prim's dialogue shows how kind she is. She cares for not only Katniss' well being, but Peeta's as well. What do you think?

message 61: by Sophia.Mangone (new)

Sophia.Mangone I think that as well but in the book primm does not really talk to peeta as much but only in the begging when she tries to gain his trust after he had the venom in him.

Christa Farris she wasn't a very big part of the book, but she was more important in the movies because they made her go in and talk to hijacked Peeta in the beginning, rather than in the book, when they had Peeta's friend Delly Cartwright talk to him.

message 63: by Sophia.Mangone (new)

Sophia.Mangone right and I agree with that. Was she a bigger part in the book or the movie? I think the book because In my opinion she has a better relationship with Katniss in the book.

message 64: by Sophia.Mangone (new)

Sophia.Mangone I also think thus because the movies sometimes dont incorperate everything as we know from whatching the movie the outsiders.

Christa Farris yeah. prim was included more in the book, but in the movie she had a huge part in the beginning

message 66: by Sophia.Mangone (new)

Sophia.Mangone Yes she was a huge part in the begging of the book interacting with Peta but I was very suprised why she did not have as many parts in this movie compared to the rest of them. She was a very big part in the first two movies but when It came two mocking jay she was not as big as a part as she was. I thought she should have been more in the movie because it was the last one and people should remember her as a big part of the movies.

message 67: by RORY (new) - added it

RORY McNERNEY The dialogue in this story can describe in detail the moment that is currently happening, and the actions that were taken. For example, when Finnick dies, and is calling out Katniss' name, that shows how desperate he is in the heat of that moment. Also, in the end of the book when Peeta asks Katniss if they're love is real, and she says yes, that will show the reader that they truly love each other and will be together. That is the dialogue in Mokingjay.

Christa Farris Yeah

Christa Farris When Peeta says "you love me, real or not real?" and Katniss replies "real" it's really important dialogue in mockingjay because it shows how much they love each other

Christa Farris I agree. When Peeta was hijacked and slowly, over the course of the story, his memory comes back, the story evolves and leads up to that moment which strengthens the plot
